100% happiness help
Hey! So my villagers are relatively happy, but I'm wondering how to up their happiness to 100% they're all in the good houses made of stone/logs and daub and limestone and I decorated every part of their houses but most of them are still at 60 or 70%. Is there a way to up it to 100%, has anyone done that?

50% mood from living in house with all walls isolated stone and a tiled roof

10% mood from that house having 10 or more decorations

20% mood from being lvl 10 in a skill and working in a job using that skill

10% for being married

5% per child living under same roof.
(can be max 2 kids so 10%)

thats default 100%

having a good king & completing herald tasks will boost mood by 5 or 10% per completed task
having a bad king does decrease it by 5% or 10% per completed task.

few season events can give a morale boost or decrease for just that 1 season.

2 questions. Will villagers automatically increase their skill just by doing their job? And when do you get the herald/king tasks? I set it to 20 days In a season and I've played like 4 years so far and haven't gotten one of those

Herald can randomly spawn upon season change from start of year three.

Workers will automatically increase their skill in the skill associated with the job they are doing. For example lumberjack, excavation hut (miner) will increase excavation skill; Cook will increase production skill; Animal breeder increase Farming skill.
Some jobs increase the skill level very slowly eg water carrier and excavation skill.
Skill gain also affected by what tasks you assign them. Eg Herbalist gains Survival skill faster whilst making potions than gathering items.

It sucks a bit that that is the only way to get 100% mood. It's pretty much impossible unless you play a specific way.

Build wood houses for the looks. No 100% mood for you.
Limit children to reduce maternities, resource use etc. No 100% mood for you.
No good King. No 100% mood for you unless you meet all other criteria.

They should make it a bit easier to reach 100% mood, but also increase any mood penalties to balance it out.

well as long as they are reasonably happy its just goals... i think you have to go below 0 happiness maybe far below for it to actually make a difference...as in they leave the village. that said i do role play and try to make my peeps happy so if you got em at 50 60 or better your doing great

I had one at -36% and she didn't leave. Not sure what the hard deck is on that stat though.

I think its -100 and they're gone. I just recruited a villager and had to quickly to build a house, as he was -3 levels, meaning he would leave quicker. When I finished the house, he was like -30. Good thing I wasn't across the map, as I am sometimes when I recruit villagers without having a home readily available.

Does this mean you're finally on board with the adults being paired up and having kids?

One thing you might be able to do is pair them up, and about once a year unassign them from the house and then reassigning them. It looks like it prevents them from having a relationship until you're ready for them to start breeding without consequence.

Yeah, that's how mine got to that point. She had such good stats I couldn't pass her up. But I had to race back home from across the map to get her a house built.

Can you use the same decoration both inside and out to get points? Can you put up two same item inside or outside or just one of ea either inside and/or outside? My folks are at 58 and 56. Stone but not whitewashed houses, crummy decos. Jobs they supposedly like but they sure are lazy. Not married though they might be messing around.

I think you can use any decoration repeatedly, or in any combination to get the bonus. At least, that's what I did in some cases, and it seems to work.

Cool. Thanx.

One thing to note about workers, is that while a potential recruit may claim that they're good at this and bad at that, you can literally stick them into any job and they'll grow overtime and come to love it. If you use the Alt button, you can use some of your stamina to see the recruits stats. Personally I won't recruit someone at a level 1 if I want them to be good at that task overtime, but it is possible to level them up in all fields. As for decor, it shouldn't matter if you have the same stuff used, just as long as you reach the desired amount of decoration. You'll need a standard size house with four beds though to max out the happiness, otherwise you're having to wait ages for the kid to move out and for the adults to have another child to add to their happiness.

I never said I was ok with having children vs just hire new travelers.

but OP wants 100% morale and thats the only way.

I believe -50% is when they will leave.
