copper pickaxe.
A quick question for the developers: why isn't there a copper pickaxe? It's perhaps the tool that's most lacking to facilitate progression. Mining up to level 2 forge with stone pickaxes is really horrible. :-)

It never even made the game, was just in the translation file.

I've noticed this myself, and I have an idea they did it this way because copper is a very malleable metal. It would not mine stone. Think of copper wiring and how easily it bends. Take a rock and smash it, and you'll see why it wouldn't be feasible as a pickax.

This.

I'm glad that they think of it. For the stone pickax, I would prefer to have granite to craft it.

It's ok to use as an axe to chop trees?

Wood is softer than stone.

Or you can sell some things until you have enough coin to purchase an iron pickaxe from a blacksmith NPC vendor.

Copper Pickaxe bends when it hits stuff.. which is why they invented bronze.. and even named an age after it. The Copper age.. lasted about a week.

Copper is harder than wood, but not by much. Also, you're talking blunt force versus a sharp edge. You're bashing the rock with a pickax, while just cutting the tree with an ax. Perform the same test as above: hit a piece of copper wire with a piece of wood. It'll dent it, but not nearly as much as a stone would, plus the wood would get dented too. With a sharp edge, the ax has an... edge...

Still pretty hard though. With how easy copper bends (apparently, I mean all wire bends easy) it wouldn't be very effective would it and most likely blunt the bendy copper.

I'm pretty sure a pickaxe also has a sharp point. Here, let me hit you on the head with it, I'm sure it would leave more than some blunt force trauma.

Just so you know I'm not being that serious here, but I'm committed now.

The other tool that should be upgraded is the Fishing spear!
Only a stone fishing spear after everything you have has upgraded to iron.

In relative terms, a pickax has a blunt edge compared to a wood ax. Like the difference between a chisel and a carving knife.

The Egyptians use copper tools to cut the stone (scissors). Ok, copper isn't the hardest thing, but I don't think that's why the devs didn't put in a copper pickaxe. Either it's an oversight or for balancing reasons, but I don't understand why.

You're talking limestone vs. stone. Not the same thing.
