so far it only happend to me once.
If all fails, we can change your king. This will remove the rewards you have from the old one, but it will reset the herald completely as well.
Just incase it’s a glitch in programming - get Steam to verify the game files.
If you don’t mind reloading your game to get a different outcome on season change you could save before a season change is due (after the time you can sleep to the next season) and redo the season change until he appears on the map. [some people see this as a form of cheating, so that’s why I said “if you don’t mind…”]
With my Heir taking over a bad king started his rule and I missed the chance of ignoring the herald for the bad king. As I'd already done the Herald task before getting that advice. Didn't see herald again ... so obviously I must have developed bad luck playing the game.
It does seem that the odds of getting herald to turn up can get glitched, unless people save scum to try to get a better result at years end.
I do wonder how to change your king.. having an evil one.. means no moral bonus from herald challenges compled.
I heard that if you ignore the herald of a bad king you gain more positive villager response than if you do the herald quest.
well yes/no..
completing a herald task will give +10 reputation with current king.
that in turn lowers the amount of taxes you pay.
if it is a good king, it will also give all your villagers +2 mood
if it is a bad king -2 mood.
not doing tasks for evil kings, will indeed boost mood (or at least prevent it dropping).. but you pay more tax.
so having a good king is vastly preferable.. so when having an evil one.. a method to have him "have an hunting accident" and get him replaced.. would be great;)
It's called a "Goldi-accident" ;-) (nl_toplitz can change your king for you if really needed)
Hi, thank you for your answer. How can I change the king? I have zero rewards from the current one since I have never seen the Herald yet.
