Farm shed

I have a farmer assigned to the farm shed.
I have three hoes in the farm shed chest but it shows no tool in the status bar.

You need several things in your farm shed or resource storage chest for the farmer to work. If you place the items in the chests during non-working hours the farmer will not know they are there.

The items your farmer needs are hoes, bags, fertilizer, seeds, sickles, or scythes.

If you look at your farmer in your villagers list, it'll say on the right what tool he's missing.

i have both sickles and sythes in my farm shed, which i placed in the ches during working hours with the worker standing right next to Me. However no sickle or sythe shows up in the farm shed list. What am i doing wrong :-(

Try putting them in the Resource Storage. Your workers should take them from the farm shed too, but it might be a glitch, or I might be wrong about the farm shed chest.

Also, make sure to give it a few moments to update that you've fulfilled the requirements. It some times takes a tick or two to show up.

Actually I have put farming tools in the resource shed, i just forgot to mention it, sorry :-)

Well you gotta give the hoes credit for showing up and shaming all the other tools :-) Doesn't actually solve my problem though!

This doesn't even make sense, doesn't matter what you put in any chest, it will always at least be in the chest list.

i can see the sickles in the chest, but when i look at the farm shed managemet sigh i can see hoes and bacgs listedm but just a dash next to sickles/sythes. I totally don't understand it. I have verified all files as corect. It's really putting a damper on my gaming fun!

Does it matter though as long as they are doing their work? I've never paid attention to it, but those are supposed to show the current tool that is in use by them, and how much durability is still left on it. So it should only show a durability when they effectively have used a sickle/scythe. So have they? Is there anything for them to harvest with scythe/sickle and did they start doing that already? If not, then it's normal that it only shows with a dash.

Be careful with farming, and try not to switch workers in and out once fields are being worked. I've run into a bug in the past where if you changed out a worker, you might not be able to get the other farmers to take over their role, even if you do have the right farming equipment in the resource building. It would show as lacking the correct tool, and even attempting to bring back that worker wouldn't work, meaning you had to jump in and start farming yourself while the farmers in the shed just stood and watched you do all the work.

That sounds like something that saving and reloading would fix. Try that when you ever have that issue again.
