I mean what happens once the Main Character dies. You play the heir or am I wrong? I definitely can be wrong here. Maybe I'm mixing something up. Your heir is randomly generated depending on who you marry or are you not? I don't know! So the game gives you the opportunity to play as different looking characters. Why not let me create one from the get go? I don't understand.
--- addendum ---
The steam page even says that you can develop your own character. If there's no character customization you can't do that. You can develop the skills of the character the game hands you. He's not your own. He's the same character everyone else plays. That's why I'm confused on wether character customization is planned or not. It's Early Access after all.
--- addendum 2 ---
Just realized it's not EA anymore. That confuses me even more when I read the store page.
The game has been out of EA for a long time by now.
I haven't seen my heir grow up to adult age, but I'm pretty sure he will look identical to how Racimir (aka, this one dumbass like you call him xD) looked at the start.
That being said, later this year the game will receive co-op, which will come with a new map and a new story.
Nothing other than that has been confirmed yet, but I suspect it will come with some form of character creation? At least, I hope so. :-)
So keep an eye on the game's updates!
Now that's an answer I was hoping for and then some! I dislike myself (a little bit) for being so superficial but even though the game seems to be super interesting, the fact that you are forced to play as that guy is enough to make me not want to play it. I hope something like character creation is coming in the future! If that's the case it will be a guaranteed buy.
Don't do this to me now ;w;
I can't bear to deal with another game I'm hyped about.
And no amount of coaxing, threatening or bribing will get any info out of her (i tried xD)
The game really isn't suppose to completely focus on your character but the dynasty created (more long term).
Id much rather see a system if offspring taking on the characteristics of the parents in interesting ways instead.
Now character customization would be fun (shaving, growing a beard, etc.)
