**doing all quests each season
**selling so many stone knifes I cleared out all cash from all vendors in all towns each season
**collected a stockpile of at least 1000 of each resource.
this maxed out all skill and techs except farming.. farming is the hard tech to me.
So set NPCs as Cooks, Seamsters, Craftsmen and Blacksmiths to work full time and their work will increase your production technology points.
I’m not sure if getting them to do more complex tasks will gain you more points. Eg if a cook making Stews and Pottage will earn more production technology points than if you set them to roast meat only.
in my experience exp is per task..
example villagers selling cheap feathers lvl diplo faster than if they sell expensive items.
so a task taking less time per item will level them (and you) faster.
you can set your villagers to just gather sticks as woodcutters and stones in excavation huts..
than you craft stone knifes by the thousands to lvl your production tech
Example: Roasted meat only (67.84 pieces) they increased production tech by 5.6 points in one day; Pottage only (14.92 bowls) they increased production tech by 7.5 points; making Quark (50%, 6.78 pieces) and Cheese (50%, 6.78 pieces) raised the tech points by 14.8.
Therefore even though they make less items the total production tech points gained was higher.
Interestingly, I compared how many tech points per item my NPC earned compared to me - I earned less. But of course I can craft a very large amount in comparison to my villagers.
@PizzaDaddy. You can customise the game to increase the amount of technology gained per task. Load game, go to main menu, select Customise Game - scroll down the list and you will see “Technology Gain Multiplier”. If you are crafting a lot yourself then you can turn on Fast Crafting in the customise game options - you will earn the same amount of production tech points with it as normal slower crafting.
