All kings will respond in kind if you complete their quests :) no worries, I used to worry over same thing, Is just a name :) One thing u can do if starting a new game after update is check the king at the beginning and if no like just keep rolling till u get a king u like
2. You pay less taxes if you succeed at his quests. The downside is that your villagers' mood will drop. If you fail at his quests their mood will go up, but you get no tax reduction. The challenge quests between the different types of kings are slightly different.
3. If you fail at his quests the chance for him to die is bigger, no guarantee though, and you get punished for it.
4. Possibly, but that's part of being immersed. :)
2. You still get the tax reduction, but instead of a boost to villager mood, their happiness goes down
3. Completely random. Failing a quest for him increases the chance he'll die in battle at a young age, and increases your villagers mood. But does come with tax increases
4. Very much so, if you're in year 16 I highly doubt you need to worry about getting production higher. So a mood drop won't make much difference, and same for your taxes, money is likely falling into your lap left right and centre. So you likely won't notice any advantage or disadvantage from comleting or failing his challenge
Agreed money isn't a worry anymore, as I have exceeded the million mark.
I do have OVER production in most areas of game as it working out how to maintain a balanced economy when skills and people are constantly changing.
In fact my village produces so much that I cannot sell it fast enough and need to keep building resource storage.
Great to hear that refusing the Mad Kings requests may lead to his early death!
Hopefully not to my early death :-D
When he 'dies in battle', do you get a message for that?
No message about it no, the in battle part is more my RP spin on it, a bad king is more likely to develop enemies or try going to war etc. So just makes sense in my head cannon XD
My Heir now 15 yo obviously he has a love interest in Astrid (the North Maiden Quest) who is 10 years older than him. Weirdly enough he has been following her and meeting her in the evenings. Now I have kept her in a house on her own at this stage.
Would Astrid be a viable wife for my Heir "Rajner" or will her age be a limiting factor?
I guess as he gets to 18 I'll have to make a save that I could use where he and my choice of partner will be able to set up a home together.
Firstly change to him to see what flirting with girls of his age may offer to check out what other alternatives are available to him. He will have up to ~ 40 Children in the village within several years all reaching 18 after he does. So several good options should be amongst them .. as well.
I have been surprised that some of the village children have VERY high skills. One child has 8 in Diplomacy and isn't old enough to be an apprentice yet.
xD Could have it apply to mensa if such a thing existed back then!
If you successfully complete a bunch of quests for the herald does this in turn increase the chance of the king living longer? I have a bad king right now and wondering if I can try increase the chance of him dying by failing his quests and then (hopefully) get a new good king if I can try keep him around a little longer 🙏
Also if you save at the end of every season, is it possible to save scum your way to rerolling the new king? I’m assuming the new king is randomly picked at the start of a random season so would have to remember to save at the end of every season just in case
Sorry to revive an old thread, absolutely loving this game though, thank you in advance!
