It depends on the number of buildings you have built. Plus if you have set the building limit overall to be higher, you will also need more buildings to reach the different statuses.
-------------------------------
Thank you for that...
And yes I have 'cheated' everything pushed up to max [1000% and 160 buildings]. To be honest I did start 'pure' but I just seemed sooooooo long to get anywhere. I read somewhere that many players ramp everything up, so I restarted and pushed everything up as far as I could. When I played 'pure' I just got so frustrated waiting around forever, killing millions of birds etc.
I am still learning :) I promise once I get everything worked out and do the achievements I will play a 'pure' game (if I live long enough - I'm 70...)
Oh BTW Mr Developer: I really do love this game. My congratulations on such a wonderful game - it has taken over my retirement... All I would like is a speed button.. So I can double the speed of the villagers when I want to, (make the days go a bit quicker). I've had it about 3 weeks and played 252 hours ...(175 hours in the last 2 weeks)
i havent quite resorted to this, as i have little to do for another 3 years or so. the player being unable to romance "super" NPCs destroyed my plans for my heir, who i am now playing as.
i'm trying to avoid even more of a housing crisis. i did not know what i was going to specialize my town in, so i went with a "one of each" approach. there was a baby boom of children. i've already had to up the building limit to ensure i'll have enough houses when all these kids grow up (aside from the 2 more racimir is going to produce.... i didnt account for them.)
i really hope people start dying off by the time the third generation grows up.
Take your time, get sleep (ingame and RL
it´s your retirement, so why the rush?
This is true, my NPC now do almost all the work and market stalls make money. Leaving me to build houses, decorate and quest. But once that is done ....... It has taken Racimir 12 years to get to this point - his son is 1. Once he is 18 - or I get too bored I'll start another game in a new location. Like I do with City Skylines (although I have done all those maps)
I have 1 per house and 'partner' them over time to control population as you can't have 2 same sex in one house. (currently 4 toddlers around) and I didn't want have the workers going on maternity leave at the same time for 2 years.
But I would like to finish before I die.
I may be playing too slowly, as I am in my third generation and still have a lot to do.
You could create the game I wanted since I can remember... :)
Start in the stone age, on through to Iron age (think Age of Man) but don't stop. Continue through the ages Dark ages / Medieval (this game).. then into others like the anno series up to and beyond current days..
But design it all like this so you actually live through the ages. Not 'GOD' Ones.. Father->Son etc ... I really do like this format...
I expect that to come out next week :) I guess from that you know I love city-build :)
the maternity thing wasent a problem, for the most part. at least till near the "end" of my build. i had to move a hunter to being a stallkeeper a couple of times. i know now i overloaded my hunting lodge, assuming that NPCs needed the same amount of food as i did.
this led me to having FAR more meat than i could ever use, prompting me to put up food stalls earlier than i had planned. since putting up the food stalls, i pretty much stopped doing my "once a season visiting most settlements in the valley to sell clothing" trips, as the stalls paid more than the rent all on their own.
anyhow, now that i've unlocked everything, most of what i need to do ingame is just pass time. i've actually started pacing myself, so i do not finish everything i want to do in the game too soon.
