But like Karl said, the child might disappear if it's not 18 yet when its mother dies of old age. To be tested!
Last I heard the "want baby meter" stops going up at 50, but if it's full and a bed becomes available after that age they will have a child.... but I'm not 100% if that's still the case.
It'll take a long time irl to get there, but since I don't want to recruit more than one villager other than the special npc's in this playthrough, I'll heavily depend on them getting as much children as possible to build out my village. So I'll definitely be trying this out and encouraging them to pop out as much children as possible.
(So far I only encountered 2 special npc's and I think my wife only has 2 or 3 seasons of nursing left to go, so maybe those and the farmhand I hired at the start is all the adults my village is gonna be stuck with. I'm really curious how inbred everyone is gonna be after a few generations
Some come after your heir is a baby so I think you'll still be getting the others.
