Question about breeding mounts
Say you have 2 donkeys and 1 of them is your mount, is it able to breed with the other? I ask cause you don't need someone working in their building if you just have 1 mount and it doesn't eat food as a mount it seems.

If there is food in their stable it will eat while you're riding it, and yes it can still breed with the other one in the stable

You don't need anyone working in the building even if you have more than 1 animal.
For horses and donkeys the worker will do nothing else than refill the feed, which you can do yourself.
So no need for a worker here.
(workers are not needed for breeding animals btw)

Ok cool, so they can still breed if they are set as mounts. Thanks for the info.

You can feed them yourself. Unless you have an awful lot of bored workers, no need to put a worker here. However. on my current save my two horses (yes one male one female) Are about 7 years old and still have not had a foal. So maybe that DID change.

A worker and food is needed for the passive generation of resources from pigs, chickens, etc. Seems no worker is needed from what I heard for breeding.

Important for breeding is, that the animals are fed.
You can do this by yourself, if you want to.
But if you don't want, you can also assign a worker to do so.

It would be nice if you could just assign a feeder that feeds all your animals.
