The king was, as far as I can recall, 35 years old when I first met the herald. That should mean he is around 50-55 now, so maybe I can hope for a change eventually. (Being on good terms with Lotar the Cruel obviously means losing disposition points with my villagers, which I didn't understand from start, so I'm really looking forward to a new king).
That said, if you send us your save, we can take a look.
I have browsed the forum, and it seems I am not the only one who haven't spotted the herald for a very long time.
However, a friend of mine recently started to play this game, too, and while talking to him I have started to realize that there are also a lot of random quests that have ceased to exist in my game. In fact, there are only a few remaining that are repeating themselves (Night hunt, Lawish meal, getting iron ore/wool, npc needs mushroom for medication, Just like papa, buying noble shoes in Hornica, competition between seamsters, convincing angry wife to make friends again, maybe some more).
The quests that I know I haven't had since approx the same time as the herald showed up are at least these:
- chop down trees for npcs.
- contest with a npc for chopping down trees.
- npc needs various kind of seeds for planting.
- contest with a npc in hunting down X animals.
Now, I have been playing this game for many months, I think I started in august, so there have been a few version upgrades since then. I wonder if maybe they could have affected this?
But. You can allways send a savefile to a bughunter, to check if there is something going on. Or to "change king" for you.
Damn that guy is persistent xD
I'm curious to know how long kings can live. Some named npc's can make it til well in their 90's, so that might also be the case for kings?
(Though with a name like that you'd suspect someone would off him sooner or later.)
