can i collect manure by myself or i must have a worker doing it.
if i can, do i need a shovel?

All animals except chickens and geese leave manure on their stable floor which you can collect yourself. You don't need a shovel for it, just press and hold E.

If you want manure on a production scale you need to put a worker in the pigsty and set production for manure in the production tab. They don't need shovels either.

You can put a worker to do it , but if you want even more, you can collect yourself along with your worker.

Both. The worker gets WAY more than you ever will. Also they'll never actually clean the place. The stuff on the floor is like "bonus" resources for you to get if you're especially hurting at that moment. The same for goose/chicken houses. You can go in there and find nests the workers don't touch so you can get some bonus feathers and eggs.
