The normal trees you chop down do regrow after 2 ingame years as long as you don't remove the stump. If you removed the stump with a shovel, they will be gone forever.
For Maple syrup you need to play through a minimum of 600 years so the America's can be discovered and with them Acer saccharum, Acer campestre can't produce maple syrup

Oh yea and would like plantable trees ingame other than orchards.
I was thinking about starting a new game and I would start near the main town. I think after unlocking horses I would want to move away, but then I would want to fix the area I cleared for my original spot.
I have both seeds and manure in inventory and i can't plant.
Also can't add seeds or manure to bags either simple or anything.
Is it on purpose that things are not logical and you have to pay 20000gold for blueprints?
It's probably advised you have a look at the knowledge tab ingame as a lot of things are explained there.
(need to equip and hold bag, then rightclick for anyone wondering)
Got both saplings and farms planted now, so all good thank you. :D
Edit: is there any way to rotate farm and orchards fields?
It looks a bit random what angle they are plottet at.
Fields and orchards are fixed at North-South/East-West orientation.
The devs encountered issues when placing fields that were not aligned as above. Many problems with graphics, animations, and work calculations popped up and the more they tried working through each bug, the worse it got. Once they fixed it to the N-S/E-W orientation, they were able to get Unreal Engine to process correctly. Even though we should "never say never," this is one thing that will never change.
Also, if you watch the tips during game load, you may see text that tells you it's restricted and then tell you "it's the law."
Thank you for the explanation.
