I really would like there to be some benefit for having different foods and drinks available to your workers.
You can get salt from day 1. Craft a pickax and head to the nearest mine.
Yes you could, but you could not salt any meet since you will not have the level II hunting lodge unlocked for quite some time. Also why would you bother if dried meats are superior?
Can't you use salted meats in raw meat/fish dishes, while you can't with dried meat/fish? I don't have the game (been looking into it to see if it's in a state worth playing to me), but that's what looking at the wiki and YT videos of the cooking interface has shown me.
Not only that, it is pretty expensive to run it as it requires a fishing spear. Which requires a smithy and expensive linen thread to make.
I'd love that, though in this game you don't really have time to relax, you have to work your butt off xD Try COTW The Angler ;)
