Make villagers prioritize "finished" food rather than raw
Just something I noticed that's kind of irritating -- if you've got crops in your food storage like cabbages, onions, etc., for some reason your villagers will eat those all up first rather than 'finished' food like the mountain of dried meat I have stored. This is particularly annoying because it makes it extremely difficult to let my kitchen run on automatic when I harvest 120 cabbages and barely a season later I have 3 left.

Can you guys please set it up so villagers will eat meals and dried or salted meat before going after raw vegetables? D:

If you go to your management menu there's a list of all the food choices. You can selectively turn off eating of various foodstuffs to keep your villagers from eating raw ingredients.

Oh huh, thanks for that <3
I would rather eat fresh when its available. seems fair to me.

I wonder if there's a way to alter the priorities in that page though? If not that's something the devs should add. :o

As far as i know, no, you can just tell them to stop eat stuff. They don´t even care if its a cake, cheese or just dried meat, they won´t react to it in any way. They just need less "Good food" and it´s more worth
They usually eat the highest nutritive value first.

Cabbage has more nutrition value than roasted meat, for example, so if you have those two foods in your storage they will always eat the cabbage, unless you forbid them to eat cabbage.
I think that they achieved a balanced diet by the human trait to enjoy variety, rather than understanding the nutritional value of each food, back then. It would be nice if they favoured foods with mixed ingredients or at least took a bit from a mix of stocked items in parallel.

What kinda buggs me the most is the fact that they don´t care about the quality of their food. Don´t want to say that a pie and alcohol diet is good in any way... but as part of their overall happines, i would say just eatin raw cabbage wouldn´t give most of the people much pleasure. I guess

Like I said, it would be nice if the devs would add the ability for us to alter the priorities. Wasn't really opening a debate on proper nutrition or how realistic that is -- this is a game, folks. xD
I think there is merit in discovering the "rules" that do exist by experimentation, and then using that knowledge to inform the settings choices.
