My mount is lazy
I just noticed yesterday that when I whistle for my mount now he teleports near me, but then very slowly walks the rest of the way. Before that he would come running to me. It started happening with my donkey, but I bought a horse and it's the same thing.

Is this new design or a bug? And if it's a bug, is there any way to fix it?

Yes, no, maybe. They do walk more slowly if they are overburdened. But they could also accidentally kick players into the universy if they came running too fast.

But this is really slow. As if they were close to completely overburdened, when they are not!
And for 3-4 whistles, my horse came to me running as before, today. 🤔

Same here. Donkey have 20/75kg load and today he starts walking towards me instead of running.

The horse has become very slow lately when I whistle, and it happens every time. It spawns quite far away and then moves towards me like a snail. It is never overburdened :)

This started a while ago already: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1129580/discussions/4/3390672107123656402/?tscn=1665086660

I half understood from the comments that it was done intentionally like this, but never saw it confirmed.

Mine too! Used to run to me, now slowly saunters from about 4 meters. Lazy!

You might want to swap your horse for a donkey.

Well, this kinda wierds me out, because my neither my horse nor my donkey has ever run to me. They always appear from around the side of whichever building I'm standing next to and slowly make their way toward me. It's been that way since I first bought my donkey a couple of months ago.

I remember seeing posts from people complaining that their mounts were approaching so fast that they were projected a pretty good distance. I remember someone posting a shot where they were projected so far vertical they had nearly had a view of the complete valley. I presumed this recent slow down was to counteract that. Maybe they slowed it down too much.

It looks perfectly natural to me. When you call a horse, it doesn't come flying at you - it just kinda moseys on over.

😂😅😂
Yep, I think you’re right!
I don’t mind the slow approach, just after having the insta-horse, I got spoiled.😜

I miss my horse's pep when whistling. And considering I now have a mining operation that limits trips to the local village for smithy supplies, I'd say he has it pretty good right now.
