Imo, definitely avoid all xp perks if you can (there are some you can't avoid, when the first tier are all xp perks and you need at least 1 point in the first tier to be able to choose from the second tier). You level your skills fast enough without them anyway; and they will be worthless once you are at the maximum skills. (you can get only a maximum of 15 skill points in each tree, so chose wisely)

But don't worry; there exists a potion in-game you can make to reset your skills with, so you can always change them later if you regret a choice you made.

Also, from what i understood (but haven't experienced yet), the next generation will have more maximum skillpoints than Racimir. But I don't know how many more or how it exactly works.

Ones that definitely stand out for me: are the ones giving me extra carry weight, and the 1-point ones on the second tier,like allowing you to see animals or herbs in inspector mode.
And cause I play on a harder difficulty, I also really value the ones that give me more health and reduce my damage taken, the one that reduces my taxes and the one that gives me better prices when buying/selling.
Oh, and the ones that give me a better yield in field and orchard!

It's one extra per generation, so Racimir's son gets 11, grandson 12 and so on

This I would like to see a screenshot. I p[lay the next generation and I still have level 10 but have 17 tech skill point. (2 more)

You can craft a potion once you have unlocked the higher level herbalist hut that clears all your skill point trees. This will allow you to redistribute the points again if you find something not helpful any longer.
I personally level with the bonus experience perks, when I am around max I just drink a potion, like Kwalyz mentioned and I use the skills I actually want.

I haven't got to that point because of restarts with major updates and a bugged save I had to abandon. That was the info given to me that originated from the devs. However it looks like the implementation does not show as extra skill levels but rather as additional skill points to allocate. It still means that more skills can be selected by next generations, which was my main point. Thank you for the screenshot.
@TuppenceStick,

Thanks, still a little bit confusing but I'll keep playing this save to see if my successor will still be level 10 but will have 19 tech points.

Let me know! I'm really curious to see how it works as well!
