Is the game set in Poland?
This dreamy landscape and all these animals remind me a lot of my childhood in the former GDR and the beautiful Polish landscape. I think there are also Polish developers who made this game. It's unbelievable what talent Poland has to offer. At least in the games area they are number 1 in the world for me. Ok along with France which also puts out beautiful great games. :-) The big Triple A Studios are becoming less and less interesting for me. Anyway, Medieval Dynasty is the greatest and most loving game I've ever played and I will continue to play this game for years to come. And I really admire it when young people engage with such beautiful cultural things and they can turn it into a game in such a skillful way and with such attention to detail. Mushroom picking.....who of the young people is still interested in mushroom picking...:-) But that's exactly what was implemented into the game so wonderfully! :-) It's really like taking a trip back to my childhood...:-) I can't find words to describe how awesome this game is...:-)

My "King" is Zbiegnew, which (and I'm dating myself here) reminded me of Zbiegnew Brzenski, former advisor to President Carter.

IIRC, he was of Polish descent.

As an aside, my king is "ambitious", which I haven't figured out yet is the "Good King" / "Bad King" / "Neutral King"

This gem is set in Eastern Europe at around 1000CE, the Bronze Ages transitioning into the early medieval age (depending on the “expert” you ask).

Hence no princesses, castles, churches, knights, big army’s, dragons, potatoes, etc.. ;)

Actually... there are...

You should try to kill a bandit. You'll notice every time you go away from the corpse and come back to it, that it will have moved a bit and laying in a different position than before...

It's due to it being spawned in again when you come close, but still looks creepy. I killed two once near the stream where i regularly went to fill my water buckets. And every time I went there, they were laying slightly different. Once I found one of them sitting upright. Was actually creepy, especially at night. :p

I have activate the bandits in my options but I only find empty tents into the forest....absolute no bandit is crossing my path...:-)

Just wait for it. They spawn every season random at different fixed key-locations in The Valley and do scale (in number, weapons and tools) with your games progress.

I think they’re having explicitly a dispute with Racimir and his heirs. All NPCs, villages and animals seem to be okay with them.
Maybe Racimirs parents had a running credit to payback …who knows.

When I come across them, I place an animal trap as a marker. So every season when I pass by, I detour to see if there are any occupants, and if there are, I let them know their mistake.

To make the game more passive, it would be nice to be able to chase them away by throwing rocks and rot until they flee

Why am I thinking of a 'Banker Suit'-mod for Bandits right now... 🤔

I hope this comment was sarcasm. Since the Bronze Age ended about 2000 years before the period this game is set in.:steamfacepalm:

nah... having over 30 million coins in my pocket.. that must be what lures the bandits;)

They somehow always eat cheese & raw onions and drink wine- bandits must be french.
french love ending dynasties;)

Yes, somewhere in that area.
Both landscape and architecture look very similar to the Ore Mountains[www.google.com], which includes parts of Germany, Czech Republic and southern Poland.

But regarding the time and age, it would probably be more precise to say it's set in the eastern part of the 'Holy Roman Empire (of the German Nation)'.

Since my blacksmith is busy making iron bars, I call it the iron age. The valley is really lovely though. Really enjoy cross country routes and climbing to the top of peaks. (actually an excuse for looking for wooden toys, only one so far) It's a beautifully crafted game. From upland meadows to sub-alpine crags. Need whistling marmots but probably wrong part of the world. There should be blueberries in the fall too scattered high up. lol Maybe in the new valley.
