Somehow strange that there is not one real reason to create a dynasty or play your own son (and so on) in a dynasty game. Medieval Farmer would fit better imo. I even never played that long so i could play my own son. Because what should i do all the in game years with nothing left to do after a short while? And i would have exactly nothing of playing that long, nothing special happens when you die and play as your own son, when you contiinue the "dynasty". Nothing new will be unlocked, the story is not continued or whatever.
Shame there wasn't things to go wrong, people getting ill, bad crop yield/summer or floods or something to keep you working as a player.
Would be a good way to waste that gold in the bad times and keep the player invested.
Also, I cut down trees along the roads, pretending I'm making them more safe. Bandits can't hide near roads without trees. Is why I'm logging around villages as well. All excess lumber gets sold currently, as I don't have as much need for it. More open roads makes it easier to spot bandit camps and aggressive wildlife.
Must mention, I've customized my game to be as clost to a creative/peaceful mode as I could get. Makes it more enjoyable for me.
At the beginning of last season (summer), I did have an event that made me lose some food, it was a flooding of the fields or somesuch. So far, the events have had little impact on our little village. A few units of food, or loss of 5 mood makes little difference at the moment.
But most important, lock the ways for overrecruitment.
Most often the players owns fault.
In this save Im over 50 years in and still have not unlocked all.
I also love starting over again as I like the thrill of finding things you can use in the chests, camps and wagons. Later in the game you don't really need any of those things anymore.
I never felt the game getting boring though and I keep getting back to my favourite village which now also is the oldest. I play it for a couple of years and then I start a new game to go treasure hunting again.
To be fair, I just love the beginning in most games and I have many Alts in all the numerous MMO's that I have played. I guess starting over again in this game is sort of the same thing as creating an alt.
Why do you want high tech gain?
Sure a big reason to have everything unlocked "to early".
Really talking against your own point with that
Imo the game could do with a bit more than build a small village = end game.
Anyway, i think game is kinda flawed. Late game is way too easy. I am sure it is cause by skill system of villagers. They start with skill level 2-3 but end at 10 in endgame. Problem is, one Villager with skill level 10 produces as much goods as five villagers with skill level 2 (or 10 villagers with skill level 1).
