Linen thread is where now?

So... in order to make a stone spear I need to use the workbench... in the smithy. And when I build that I still need the linen thread which requires the workbench in the sewing hut... Which can only be unlocked after the smithy.

first of all why do i need a workbench to make stone tools? Im pretty sure stone spears dont need a workbench to make something so basic as a stone spear! The logic for some of these tools or weapons crafting is... ugh...

you can do the basic versions without workbenches. In most chases its the stone version. But the basic spear is the wooden spear.

Buy a few linen thread from some of the villages, wooden spears V stone spears not much difference.
Linen thread needed for fishing spear.

also as far as linen goes you may get more mileage from a bow.

You can buy thread from the town to the south west for 75 coin. The stone spear isnt worth it anyways. Make a bow for range and use an axe for melee.
