Does this game have major swearing?
I'm not interesting in playing games that take the name of Jesus in vain, is there any usage of religious swears?

There is no religious or magic in the whole game.

There is some rough language in general, though. There also is mention of violence and alcohol. So, while the game itself is mostly peaceful and you can turn off blood or having to fight human enemies, the story is not written for children.

If those are topics you aren't keen on either, you will find them in the game.

Okay thank you. I will probably purchase it then, I am just not a fan of using the name of Jesus as a curse, it hurts my heart.

From my translation file.

The only usage of the word "god":

"I love such nonsense! A smart king can be seen as a god by the rabble. And one day they'll be telling legends about me."

No instance of the word "deity".

No instance of the word "Jesus".

No instance of the word "Christ".

A few "damn" and "damned.

One "feces".

One for "curse":

"That's one of the curses of my beauty."

------------

That said, I think you're good. ;)

This is one of the best games i have ever played. I share the same sentiments about our Savior. It is rare to find a survivor game that has no zombies. This one stays close to the period as possible. About the alcohol you sometimes find it by turned over carts but i sell it to the vendors for top coin. Later in the game when you get a tavern it is available to make but you dont have to.
I believe this is one of the cleanest games out there.
Thanks DEVS!

definitely e for everyone rating imo not sure officially. religion is not really mentioned at all even though it was a big part of life in this time period.

Wow. Came to the forums as I do from time to time to check on multiplayer updates. I could not be more impressed with this community.

I often check for certain things among games for beliefs (normally in horror style games) and are often the subject of scorn and ridicule. Whether he is trolling or not, the legit answers to these, INCLUDING from a dev is fantastic.

I'm not trolling. And I also agree, surprised and happy to hear these good responses.

I have been coming to this discussion forum since close to when the game first came out and from all the discussion forums I have been to, this one is the best and most helpful forum I have ever seen. From the dev's to the players. Everyone here is awsome :)

Don't worry, it's not even His name correct, J letter is only 500 year old, I recalled, I suggest reseaching in this subject, Yeshua is more likely His name. But same thing, I am dislike too, even incorrect name in vain as well. It's not good influence on minds as it's make mind little more darker when curse, I'm sick of movie saying here and there as well god with d-a-m-n, I don't want even see that word, as I find that insulted. My memories isn't good, so I don't recall this game do said that, do they?

I agree! I call the "tavern" an Inn and have just fruit juice in it. I turned off bandits and blood, etc. No need for all that gore, violence, and evil in every game. I just want to build, explore and craft. Problem with this game is that there's a building limit. So, I start over.

Then it is still a tavern, the difference being:
A tavern sells food and drinks soft or alcoholic
A Inn will rent you a place to sleep for a night, with no food or drinks offered

Yes. "damn" and "damned" are used a few times in dialogues when characters use it to express strong emotions.

In many European countries swearing was and is a part of every day life. It is not censured on TV either. I have some US-American friends who were surprised by that. So, I don't know where you are from in the world, but I always find such culturual and linguistic differences interesting. What is often censured is the depiction of excessive violence and cruelty.

I think it was Francis Ford Coppola who hinted at the fact that it is hard to criticise violence when at the same time you are depicting it as looking kind of cool. That was when he made Apocalpyse Now!

But I'm dragging this a little off-topic. So, that's that. We don't show excessive violence in MD either. You can turn blood and human enemies off.

Live in US American, yup. Thank you for answer!
