Then I guess we'd have to say the developers of Horizon Zero Dawn hate males as protagonists? (At least the plot of this game makes sense compared to HZD. You know what., lets just move on)
Females are quite "empowered" in this game. For example, I had an all-female mining crew, and those women could swing a pick. 10's in extraction across the board, and I was drowning in mining surplus.
Next, the post-childbirth, mandatory two years off, is quite progressive. (Especially given the time period)
Finally, the ability to give birth, at ages well north of 40 I might add, while medically unlikely (given the, again, time period), is unusual to say the least.
No, I don't think the Devs "hate women" as protagonists.
Keep it factual and polite everybody. Thank you for that in advance!
The obvious problem is what to do when an heir arrives - Racimira can't spend two years standing in the house singing to the baby, not much game fun there. The only easy solution I see to that would be to employ an NPC as a wet nurse leaving Racimira to carry on as normal. Ought not be too hard to add that feature.
I think, other questions require more work. F.e. what would the female character wear? The same men-style clothes as Racimir? Or a dress as the other female NPCs? And how does she ride a horse, if wearing a dress? It would require a new animation then. Imo, it's more about the small details than about the obvious mechanics.
But yes, having a boy and a girl, so you can choose, who's the heir, would be great.
If it's more than a "simple" reskin (special mechanics/quests), even I would play as a female for at least one generation. I mean, (in parts) MD is an RPG, not a MePG 🤣
I guess that would be fun but a wet nurse would be more historically accurate if we think of Racimir/Racimira as "lord/lady of the manor"
Well the huntresses wear trews so that would work ok on a horse but I guess some would like to wear a dress and that would make more work for the devs (unless there were culottes).
Kind suggestion to these people: learn programming and appreciate the effort of already having this
(But seriously, @Kraek, I totally agree. I wouldn't mind being able to play a woman, but personally i find it in no way important in MD and definitely not worth all the effort it would take to implement this)
As for now, I have seen ZERO games like Medieval Dynasty that have female only protagonists.
Also, just because you don't see the complaints about lack of males, it doesn't mean they don't exist...
