About female protagonist
This was inappropriately posted in the "Dev's request" section:

"Maybe the devs hate women as protagonists in games, or just hate women in general. Seeing how many male-only-protagonist-games had fanbase mods with female options, it is possible, just devs often do not want it."

From me:
In medieval times, women were subservient or correctly took their rolls in life as the "helpmeet" (helpmate) as God created them to be. They are the man's assistant. Women are to obey their husbands and not usurp authority over men. The men are to lead, conquer, protect and govern. That's the way it was then.

And, this comes from a "Ms.", LOL!

Well if we're doing quotes there was this....

We want to be able to play a female. In co-op, my friend could be Racimir.

Allow Racimir to have a daughter, as well as, a son.

I'd at least like the option of a second child, preferably a daughter.

Maybe the devs hate women as protagonists in games,

Then I guess we'd have to say the developers of Horizon Zero Dawn hate males as protagonists? (At least the plot of this game makes sense compared to HZD. You know what., lets just move on)

Females are quite "empowered" in this game. For example, I had an all-female mining crew, and those women could swing a pick. 10's in extraction across the board, and I was drowning in mining surplus.

Next, the post-childbirth, mandatory two years off, is quite progressive. (Especially given the time period)

Finally, the ability to give birth, at ages well north of 40 I might add, while medically unlikely (given the, again, time period), is unusual to say the least.

No, I don't think the Devs "hate women" as protagonists.

Thank you very much for taking the discussion out of the Suggestions List. :)

Keep it factual and polite everybody. Thank you for that in advance!

More and more, I'm seeing games with 'Female Protagonist' tags. In all of these games, there is no option to play as a male. So far, I haven't seen any complaint about this.

LOL! I have. Guys protesting.
Well, without idi:medidynasty_death:ts, we wouldn't have anyone to laugh about, right? 🤣
It seems to me that it would be relatively easy to have a female protagonist, simply make Racimir a woman ("Racimira" or some such). You flirt with men, give them gifts. Might have to add some other gifts such as trains sets, aftershave, model F1 cars (I joke).

The obvious problem is what to do when an heir arrives - Racimira can't spend two years standing in the house singing to the baby, not much game fun there. The only easy solution I see to that would be to employ an NPC as a wet nurse leaving Racimira to carry on as normal. Ought not be too hard to add that feature.

Imo, the father could take care of the baby, although not that historicaly accurate. Or you could implement some special-mechanics/quests for the female.
I think, other questions require more work. F.e. what would the female character wear? The same men-style clothes as Racimir? Or a dress as the other female NPCs? And how does she ride a horse, if wearing a dress? It would require a new animation then. Imo, it's more about the small details than about the obvious mechanics.
But yes, having a boy and a girl, so you can choose, who's the heir, would be great.
If it's more than a "simple" reskin (special mechanics/quests), even I would play as a female for at least one generation. I mean, (in parts) MD is an RPG, not a MePG 🤣

If Racimir could be a female then while pregnant the game could really fit the RPG (Racimir PreGnant) category. XD

I guess that would be fun but a wet nurse would be more historically accurate if we think of Racimir/Racimira as "lord/lady of the manor"

Well the huntresses wear trews so that would work ok on a horse but I guess some would like to wear a dress and that would make more work for the devs (unless there were culottes).

I don't think it is the focus of the game. And to drag along all kind of concepts like "the devs don't like female protagonists" is as far-fetched as saying that the square map suggests the devs are "flat-earth" preachers because ingame world isn't a globe.

Kind suggestion to these people: learn programming and appreciate the effort of already having this

I KNEW IT!!!!!!!

(But seriously, @Kraek, I totally agree. I wouldn't mind being able to play a woman, but personally i find it in no way important in MD and definitely not worth all the effort it would take to implement this)

As for now, I have seen ZERO games like Medieval Dynasty that have female only protagonists.

Also, just because you don't see the complaints about lack of males, it doesn't mean they don't exist...

Please try again in a more constructive and less inflamatory manner. If this is not possible I will close and remove this topic. It hasn't been that serious from the start anyway. ;)
