Early Walls
Very early game here (day 3). Should I be making my buildings with stone walls instead of the wattle walls? Seems like it pays off with housing due to lower wood consumption and mood later.

What about non-house buildings? Is there any reason to make my resource storage building with stone walls? What about buildings that have someone working in them at least part of the time, do the wood and mood bonuses affect the worker from there workplace as well as their home?

Well, told you i was pretty early in game. I don't think there are options for the resource storage level 1 building as far as the walls go. Could be wrong, but I don't see it. If wall options only exist for housing, then i guess 90% of my question is moot. It would boil down to asking your opinions if it is worth it to build housing with the best walls from the start if stones aren't to difficult to find near your village.

Upgrading requires (iirc) a significant amount of limestone per building.

Personally, by year...10? 11?, when my miners were level 10, I had to do something to alleviate the storage and weather issues.

The top-of-the-line house is pretty sturdy. Degrades much slower, and (iinm) makes them a tad happier.

What you don't want is a series of rickety houses that upon season change look like they just went through a day of fighting in Fallujah. Because they won't be happy about that - AT ALL.

(PRO_TIP: Always have one (1) empty house)

I'm not sure if upgrading food storage to max structural integrity "helps", (I thought it slowed down food decomposition, might be wrong), but again, if you have a ton of limestone and wood out the wazzoo, it's a nice way to prevent the aforementioned Fallujah scenario, and give yourself some storage space.

You don't need Limestone to build stone walls. Stones are enough. With limestone you can insulate stone walls.

i have 10,000 stone put in wicker basket on the ground fill it with 1000 stone bundles. keep it out of storing it.
The building are so big they can have 20-30 baskets in them

All correct :-)

Some buildings have multiple versions, like Fishing Hut I and Fishing Hut II. The better version usually also uses a better material for the walls.
And a bit further in you can learn a skill to insulate your walls as well, and that one also works for other buildings than houses so you can improve all your buildings a bit more. As far as I know that doesn't affect productivity or anything, I think they just wear down slower.

The only ones that have an effect on mood are the houses.

I waited til the mid tier house as well as when I had the shed that someone can gather stones in. I really didn't build much other than to get a couple to gather wood and later stones so I didn't have to run around doing that myself.

Stone houses in early game is easy and preferable and uses the same amount of logs as the wattle.
The roofing is more of a challenge as it requires planks, just cut trees and make them yourself at night.
You can also buy these materials as they are cheap.
Get your extractor to collect limestone and upgrade your stone houses as you can.
Good for morale.
