Do fishing nets need to be "armed"
I've tried both medium and small nets but nothing happens with either of them. The current medium one I have up has been up for 4 seasons and still just gives me the "100% condition" on mouse-over. Do they need to be armed like rabbit/bird traps and I'm not seeing it?

No, they are just set in place and theu catch fish (or, in this case don't). No idea why your's are not working.

To be honest I don't have a lot of experience with them, they don't catch a lot compared to what I fisherman turns in on a daily basis. like a couple of fish at a time so I've never really bothered with them. That said I do have one in place and, on the odd occasions that I remember to check on it it usually has something in it.

Maybe you need a better place for it? Mind you I did not give much thought to placing mine - just stuck it beside my fishing hut,

There was a problem with fishing nets not working which is fixed for the staging branch. I can't recall which version it first happened in now. So if you are on the live version and have this then it's a known bug that is now fixed.

The nets catch fish over time as far as im aware when i used them. Tuppencestick might be right here and it could be depending on your version that they are broken and y need to update.

Updated to the public staging and that was it. Thanks!

But, as with other known bugs, not in the live version.

Of course not. They'll be fixed in the next Live-Version. Public Stage is meant to find and fix bugs, first.

Understood. But it's been quite some time since the last update to the live version. Meanwhile, Public Stage has gotten .04, .05, .06, .07, .08, .09, .10 and .11. I would imagine they could throw the live version a patch or two. We're starting to feel like the poor, ignored step-children.

There's absolutely nothing stopping you from using the staging version if you want to you know.

And for sure there are reasons for it.. the devs are doing all they can to fix it for the live version, I promise. But every little tweek right now for fixing something in public, seems to create something new.

And the people on live should be glad they dont get it. They are not the poor children . They are the spoiled ones that get the perfect versions, after the poor ones offered thier sanity to try it out. 🤣

All of which not withstanding I have been fortunate in never encountering any major bugs in public staging. Ok, my horse won't go back into his stable or sleep at night after I've ridden him, animals still try to walk through walls (and each other) and my barn worker spends most of his time at the Quorn even though his only job is threshing grain but no problems that actually impact gameplay. Public staging is pretty stable by and large.

It is, yes.
But just so you know. We have spent the whole weekend chasing bugs, or "bugs".
I have loaded 11 diffrent saves, and that not counting my own .
So there are some things happening.

And none of that you said are bugs. Mostly just animations.

Actually, after some coercion I switched over to the Public Stage last week. Then, a few days ago, as I attempted to log on, my computer froze twice. I couldn't ctrl/alt/del out of it and I couldn't close it on my task bar. I rebooted my computer and switched back to the live version. I prefer to stay where I feel relatively safe.

But on the live version there was the quest I was given that I couldn't complete and then there's the fishing nets that I paid for (by buying the blueprints or recipes, whatever.) but just sit in the river not functioning. I believe both of these issues have been successfully resolved on the Public Stage server. Any reason we can't get these patches?

At what stage of the game were you when switching to Public staging?
I switched just before my heir was born and have had no breaking game bugs, only a few anomalies.
The staging works a lot better than the normal version and personally, I love it.

I'm glancing hopefully every day into the download section of Steam as well. Hopefully soon! If not I'm probably gonna cave and switch over to public staging as well.
There's been too many cool things being added in the last updates to wait much longer :-)
