I'm was wondering...
If there needs to be two inn operators to have them do the wine, juice, for the Tavern. both of my Taverns the operator doesn't do anything but stand at the counter. I don't see them doing anything, they have the bottles and lots of fruit , mead, and beer bottles, and hops, so not sure why they aren't doing anything. And no, there isn't any of this in the storage chest, that goes there even if they don't do anything physically.

Just to be sure: Do you mean the animation or the production?
Cassie Oct 1, 2022 @ 5:16am
both

They just stand there with their arms crossed. I thought maybe they need someone working with them? i have two taverns and each one won't make the drinks, the only drinks I have in inventory are the ones I pick -up from the bandits or the ones I make.

When they have nothing to produce, there will be no animation other than standing and sweeping the floor.

Check the management menu. Does it say it is producing drinks?

If it is producing drinks and you just do not see them, you villagers probably consume them. You can disable that in the last tab of the management menu. Make sure to disable it for drink AND for food. Beer etc. also has a food value. So, two big X there.

I have checked everything, they don't work. I have checked that they have stuff, I have checked that there are bottles, I have checked to make sure that they can make what I want them too in the management tab, everything is good, except them. I don't understand how to do the files, I'm 67 and I have problems understand some things due to fibromyalgia and other conditions I have. I just want to know why they are standing there and not wanting to work, they are at the right tab for the job, Production.

We know you, don't worry. You have been part of our community for some time now. And we will try to help the best we can. :)

The most important part is this: Standing there does not mean that they do not work. They can stand at the counter and drinks are still being made. They do not have to use the workstations like you.

Now we have to find out one of these two options is true (or both).

1. They do not have animations at the workstations.

2. They do not produce drinks.

If 1 is true that is not so bad. If there is only one worker in the tavern she may just not change to the workstations. That by itself is no reason to worry.

If 2 is true we have options again:

2.1 Nothing gets produced.

2.2 Something gets produced, but the villagers eat or drink it.

2.2 is especially tricky. Alcoholc drinks have a water AND a food value. So your villagers could drink AND eat it.

I will make you screenshots in a moment. I will show you the tab where you can tell them not to eat or drink your drinks. Then they should show up if they are being produced.

Look. This is how you can tell your villagers not to eat or drink certain items.

1. Press "n" to open your management menu.

2. Click on the item on the far right. The one next to the cow. That is the management tab for people's needs.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2870092408

3. Here you have three categories: food, water and firewood. You can expand them to see all the items.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2870092434

4. If there is a green checkmark, it means that your villages can use the item. If you click on that it turns to a red X. The red X means that they are not allowed to use it.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2870092471

5. Now, if you are making Oat Beer and you do not want them to use it: click on the checkmark and make sure that there is a red X next to Oat Beer. Important! Do this in the "Food" and in the "Water" category. So: Two red X for Oat Beer.

-> Now nobody but you can take the Oat Beer. If your innkeeper is making it, it should show up in the Food Storage.

I understand where you are coming from, I have the beer and wine that I made in the food storage, it is the amount I made because they weren't. I will try to put the x on the beer and wine , and mead I have made. Thank you, I will let you know what happens.

Can I assume that I mark an item to stop it from being consumed, it will still be sold in the market?

Yes. They will still be sold in the market. The list is only to prevent/allow your villagers from consuming food, drink or wood for themselves.

I finally got someone to work the juice and wine making. I added another person. So, the original one still stands there at the bar and the other one does all the work. lol
Goldi_Toplitz  [developer] Oct 2, 2022 @ 4:30pm
This is just the animation.

If you get wine now, it has nothing to do with another person. It has nothing to do with the animation.

The production and the animation are not linked. They can stand still and things still get made. They do not have to use the workstations for it. They do not even have to be at their workplace.
Cassie Oct 2, 2022 @ 4:44pm
I prefer that they look like they are doing the work and not just standing around, very boring when they do nothing for visual. Nothing was being added to the food storage before I hired the second person, just to let you know, when she came in and started to look like she was working I finally got wine and such.

You also said you would disable it from being used by your NPCs.

Also: two workers are faster, so they produce more. Perhaps more than can be used at once by your NPCs.

I am 99% sure that there is no bug that causes them to not work when they work alone. I am 100% sure that production and animation at the workstations are not linked in the tavern.

Anyway: I'm glad it works for you now and you are happy. That is the important part. :)

I am in control of the bottles and I know how many were there, before the second person joined it was still the same amount. Just the ones I made. Then when the new person came in and started to work, the other bottles started to decline. I'm in control of making the bottle for right now. I need the clay for other things and don't want them to use it up so I make the bottles that are needed. I did make it where the villagers don't drink it, however, it is still being sold., even though it is being sold, I know how much is being made or not. Thank you for you help, nl_toplitz
