Combat/military system
It is a debate under discussion since the release of the game. But if it is so coveted it is that people want it.

As many have been able to suggest, why not put a system that can be activated or deactivated for those who want this difficulty or not.

In the ideas proposed, I had seen possible attacks by bandits, making weapons and armor to protect us, maybe assigning new tasks to the villagers, why not attack neighboring villages.
So much can be added to have this feeling of difficulty, loss and gain

As long these new posible features can be deactivated I don't mind. However actacking neighboring villages is a long mile to far. It's against the interest of your king, and he (as far I Know there isn't a queen in the game) will be forced to take action against you. Also think how the other villages will react. They will not trade with you again ever. And trade is a part of the game.

Besides the bandits , the valey is a peacefull place. Thats why there are so many refugees. Racimir was/is a refugee himself. It will be totally against the story if you attacked a village without mayor consequences. In my Holy opinion you should be kicked out of the valey for that.

A few more weapons with the 'Shields and more'-update, as well as sliders for
Bandit-HP/Dmg separated from the animals would be enough for me.
I've already accepted, that there will never be war...... *whispering* in this valley .....
*Cough* DLC *Cough, Cough* 😁
I would like to know what % want it. What I see looks more like the players here are against it.

I'm against it.

I dont want it a bit. And, I would not like to see the devs put time on that part either. Time they could use for something I would enjoy.

So its not that "easy" as many thinks. "Just have it as a setting".

I so much rather want to see them so things I would like.
As with all. Personal opinion.

Most people who play this game actually don't want it to turn into another warfare game where all you do is create military to defend againt hordes and the economy / city builder is just an after thought.

If you want to play a medieval warfare game there is already a million of them.
TuppenceStick Sep 30, 2022 @ 9:21am
There are so many other games with war and combat. Why does this one have to turn into that too? I play to get away from that. That this game doesn't have it is a big plus. I would not have bought it if it did and would probably stop playing if it was in and not avoidable.

It's true that there was no duchy, county... sometimes duchies or counties had a casus belli to recover its neighbor's land or other legitimacy. It makes me laugh at people totally opposed ready to demonstrate in the street against. How can this be a problem for you if it is something to implant, activate and deactivate? The request of others is not justifiable but you yes? Everyone has a different desire to play, as long as one respects the other. We are a village and why not become a city? There are multiple ideas to push the immersion. Being closed-minded marks the end of a development.

Because you want the devs to put time on a feature 5% of the community wants because they are playing the wrong game. Making it optional still takes time away from working on actual content regarding the type of game Medieval Dynasty is.

Agree with Hubbemattson. While the disparate desires could be solved with the ability to turn off combat in customization, time would be sunk in to the development that could be better spent with other content such as new quests, decorations, more buildings, etc. I vote no on combat.

Or, as stated by the devs. Will not happen in MD.

I do think that with the armor and shields as a promised update it is a bit misleading. It sure sounds like a militaristic update. Why do we need armors and shields? Pretty sure peasants didn't carry shields. They might have had light leather armor?
TheRealMuehle Sep 30, 2022 @ 12:53pm
Shouldn't be a problem for a peasant to craft a simple wooden shield. But I don't think, this update will be too militaristic, too. I hope that maybe 1 out of 10 Bandits will also wear some armor. And a sword to deal with them would be nice. As well as a separation of the HP/Dmg-sliders for bandits and animals.
But when everything else is done: Why not a DLC, so Racis great-grandson can conquer back Racis former home-valley? All the "fighting" could take place there. I'm not expecting massive battles. But gathering a few men to conquer and defend NPC-villages in this valley could be fun. I mean, it's the Middle Ages! Sure, there wasn't war all the time. But still it was a brutal period.

So you start out as Racemir, a simple boy who inherits ....something. You find a plot of land, use stone to turn the earth, put up some rickety buildings, find a woman who can tolerate your smell, actually have a child that makes it past childbirth, and miracle of miracles, so does your wife.

Your village expands to the point that Racemir the teenager, is now Racemir the village leader at the ripe old age of 28. Your village, expertly managed, not only produces iron weapons, but you are very profitable with your trading.

Racemir decides village life isn't enough for him, so after [COMPLETING MAIN QUEST] figures he's the big dog in this valley and wipes out or forces the other villages to tithe to his little burgeoning empire.

How many seasons, do you figure, before the king brings in a squadron of fully armored knights and crushes your dreams into so much historical dust?
