Silly little question.
At the top left of the screen there is now an icon of an anvil with a number in red. The number changes, but the icon and number are always there. What is that this and what does it mean?

It's a warning that tells you that something is wrong with the production you set up. So, somebody is missing tools, materials or you have set up a production in an animal building without animals.

Like setting up "production" without villagers to work there? I wanted to be ready for when I have a villager to assign.

Yes. It just lets you know that you set up something that doesn't work for some reason.

Quick question about animals , I've set up a pig sty with two piglets they have feed and an animal breeder but they are not producing manure . They are not fenced in really they are free to walk any where and do so. I cant figure out whats wrong.

Is there anyway to fix this any advice would be helpful

Thanks

P.S I've set them working at 100% and taking them in and out of then pig pen to try to fix it but no joy also the panel says no animals in the sty.

You'll need adult pigs. Baby animals don't produce anything, until they are grown up. That's also why you get the 'no (producing) animals' warning.

IMHO - its kind of something we don't need. There will always be resources that are not available according to seasons. Example - I ran out of mushrooms for soup - so I wont get any for two seasons. Do I go to my kitchens and turn off mushroom soup and then turn it back on when in season - no, thats a waist of time and not needed. Not sure why the developers put this on our UI.

Like herbalists every season resources not availabe icon appears. Of course they are out of season but why change them for every season .
Waste of time.
Would be more efficient to leave them all on and herbalists just collect when in season out of season ignore.

It would nice if we had the option to turn it on/off for each building. There are some times when you want an alert, but usually that isn't the case.

The „invalid season“ info of the herbalist is not recognised by the production-error-indicator in the HUD.
So the indicator does not show up for it. ;)

OK thanks for the help, I guess piglets don't poop enough.

Hey! Since you gotta buy manure to make fertilizer, even little piglet poop would help. ;-)
TheRealMuehle Aug 31, 2022 @ 9:51am
You can also make fertilizer from rotten food. And, since Heir-Update, almost every adult animals leave manure in their stables. You can collect it by yourself. If you want an NPC to collect manure, you'll still need adult pigs, nevertheless
