Are you insane .. Read everything could find .. The last thing I want to do is hunt a BEAR ! Alwin gives me like 8 Hrs to find and kill .. also it's on the quest thing. BEAR .. I don't think so

Use spears or arrows, shoot and move back and shoot again.
Bears are found near the mine South of Gostovia.
Beware there are usually 2 of them.

OK, bear in sight .. have some healing potions .. perhaps I should return ti Alwin before I attempt this .. lol

You will need a good supply of spears (10 or more), if you cannot afford a bow, then once you have discovered their location, you can backtrack a bit and loop around to get on the high ground behind and above them from where you can sneak attack them. Worth saving and retrying - you'll get them soon enough.

If you go on the mountains above the bears, there are some areas where the bears can't reach you, but they'll try and just stop moving when they realize they can't pathfind to you. Really easy to cheese them if you don't want to try and fight them head on.

You can also find bows and stuff in things on the road. I found a few recurve bows, and they kill the bears in 3-4 shots. It also makes them bleed out, so you get a good shot in, run away until they stop chasing you, and then just sneak close to them and just watch them bleed out from a safe distance.

Thanks, I can build a recurve bow, but thought the long bow was more powerful in the stats .. I'll give it a try hunting regular deer and moose to see .. thanks again all. Happy gaming :))

The longbow have a little more damage, but the recurve bow is much faster

Practice your archery mate, or just give up and run away like a coward. I posted a pic where I hit a bear just below its eyes with 2 arrows. Killing a bear is doable, as thousands of us players have proven.

No it won't mess the game up. But it does affect your Reputation

u can also get some poisoned iron arrows, kills them faster
