I also would like this for my animals, since I name them all.
(Mind you, I don't speak of my own experience, since i never got that far; just bringing up what i read on the forum here a while ago. There was a discussion where someone brought up a great suggestion of having little gravestones for your villagers)
How about a church that you can build for your village to increase the villagers' mood? And then a graveyard that can be created similar to a farm field (on the same grid), which fills up with gravestones and mounds as more villagers die and eventually needs expanding?
The result was quite pragmatic, but people in the village don't make such a "holy" fuss about the whole issue, so perfect circles are also rather unimportant (I hope Iduron forgives them). :)
