Pigs
I was raised on a farm and I am trying to figure out why we need 2 boars in order for the sow to have babies. With any animal it only takes one male to breed several females. But in this game it is not? And pigs have litters not one baby at a time. So can that be changed to be more realistic? Plus we need more room for pigs? Meaning pig barn to hold more than just 5 total?

You ... don't need two.

These games are not based on realism. Its always for "balance" a litter of pigs would make them a cash cow. Its why in games like this you don't get them because in real life you want litters to increase your profits, but in a game you don't want the pig pen being that drastically OP over the other things you can make.

my pig don't breed, don't know why, and yes it's a female and a male and no they did not have a sex change.

I have 10 pigs in 2 buildings and I am beginning to wonder why. The only thing they produce is manure. Why not pork chops and bacon??

Because fertilizer. Pigs allow you to fully automate fertilizer production from manure (you can also use rot, but that requires much more worker labor to produce huge amounts of excess food, plus manual management to get it to rot efficiently).

You can kill them with a weapon to harvest meat if you really, really want to. It's extremely inefficient, because meat is easy to get from hunters and very cheap to sell, whereas animals are labor intensive and also much more profitable to sell alive.

Do you have a worker in charge of the pigsty? Is there enough animal feed to keep them stocked?

Animals dont need to have either food, or a breeder to breed, so no. Thats not it. Its random. Sometimes it takes 2 seasons, sometimes it takes 6 years.
But the chanse gets higher with more males.

Also, to ad to Imill1. Gameplay. Allready plenty of meat.
And surely would not like to get bacon from a living pig myself.

I had read somewhere that you need 2 males and 1 female. That is the only way I get babies?

You only need one male. However, the more males you have, the higher chance the females will have of getting pregnant each season.

I have over 60,000 fertilizer most comes from rot now. And, you are right I have too much meat from the hunters to the point where I turn it into rot.

All your animals have an average lifespan and they might die upon season change before that exact age. (I’ve had more than one chicken disappear from the game when they aged from 5.75 to 6 years. Whereas I expected them to still be there at age 6 and maybe die upon the season change when they became 6.25 years.)
If you have enough manure from your current adults, I’d suggest checking the ages and plan for replacements. Eg The male is oldest and getting close to his average lifespan. You had two male piglets born … keep one male piglet, sell the other to free up a space. When that piglet becomes an adult, sell the oldest male pig. If all your adult pigs are quite young and you don’t need to extra manure then sell the piglets so they don’t eat food unnecessarily.
