I would say that this game dont sound like it ever will be for you, so keep looking. Its about management and village building. Not war or fights. So yeah, not much for you, by the sound of it.
Just delete this game from your mind... It's NOT there... Move on young Padawan 🖖
There is a different quality that even drives conflict: taxation. You're building for the sole purpose to keep your digital human (and animal) assets safe from the hardships of digital life. So you can pay the taxes to the king. Battling adversaries might inevitably damage your assets, which would diminish your ability to provide said taxes.
They gave me clear anecdotal evidence about the following facts:
Rendercube is working at highest premium super ultra AAA++ priority to bring BATMAN!!1!! in Q4-22 to the Valley, as it is clearly shown at the Roadmap.

I’m sorry for the truth, but let me explain:
Since Gerald of Rampampam went missing, the need of an apolitical replacement became more urgent to the inhabitants of the Valley.
As the region got more and more popular over time, travellers became fearful and insecure (Bandits, trolls, decrease in average intelligence, etc.).
To cope with this problem, the wise devs decided to add several security measures, like more frequent border patrols, a massive propaganda offensive, lethal aid to bordering kingdoms and -most important- said BATMAN!!1!! (never wondered why Unigost collects taxes?).
The latter (BATMAN!!1!!) will mainly counteract the feeling of being alone in the valley and maintain security and stability, so that everything can remain exactly as it is and no unpleasant changes occur.
Im sure you will like the security of being accompanied. By BATMAN!!1!!.
Against each other is futureless.
Together isn’t.
To put it in a nutshell, and as Marx said:
- It is better to go together astray in a roundabout way, than to teach completely alone the Saxons how to fish.
Have a great day, and don’t forget to breathe.
in ARK I built a massive castle solo that the alpha tribe flew their wyverns around and gifted me 3 wyverns of my own (in a game where only the select few are even allowed to have those without being kill on sight.) they also recruited me into their team and used a cliffside base I made with a transmitter to salvage and escape during a massive war and my army of 300 bred pteras (solo) all lvl 250-300. I used them as my air force to attack any enemies that tried to raid me like a swarm from RIDDICK pitch black movies.
in Atlas I travelled solo to the most brutal location surrounded by wolves, alpha wolves, yetis and alpha yetis. and 30 of them around me at all times while gathering the resources around them/killing them. I built a harbor castle which them proceeded with an elevated bridge up the cliffs and turned it into an alloy trade harbor where I met people who pulled up on ships and took lots of my alloys I had in exchange for fiber they had and etc. I used the hostile terrain as the biggest defenses for it so most didnt attack me it there other than cannons from the sea which was easily repaired and a waste of their time so rare.
in minecraft I could only build my largest castles/sugar cane farms for money on official servers while the threat of players was there. walls, a 1500+ by 1500+ plot I llevelled and put one below ocean surface to then have mass farms. a large cliff left in with a castle carved into it reaching all the way to bedrock completely carved out and massive mines at bedrock.
in no mans sky I surpassed the uploadable build limit making factories and storage depots. Basically I condensed my materials into things like solar panels, electro magnetic gens, solid cubes and various other things as a way to full store/condense my resources without needing to store as I can simply just delete one and get full resources and use as needed for other projects. I did this in many place, satellites in the sky, cliffs, deep under water, kamino elevated atlantis cities out of the water in the middle of only open water. and various other places. but every single one was empty. no life, no npcs with me to fight with/for or work for me. nothing to fight or defend from. it was basically just a empty shell built for nothing. I need something to bring risk and danger or it is pointless. ultimately I couldnt play and im still waiting for star wars themed wars/raids/factions and etc. they are going in the right direction finally after years of me suggesting such an obvious thing. and their player count boosted by a ton. but its still not living up to its great potential, I loaded it up and saw that the raiders were just ships and got into my exploring ship and took them out in seconds. wasnt even a challenge. (they also failed to make it a toggle in settings option which made a lot of their peaceful players angry) its important to not force it but give the option. But I was making a massive carbon farm like last year siphoning oxygen to then refine it. and partway into it I just said outloud as why tf am I even building this? no ones gonna see it, nothings gonna attack it and its just pointless. then stopped playing until their new update. where I loaded it up and saw that it was just ships (I could be wrong but I just figured it was since thats the event that occurred maybe its multiple and I need to load it up again.) but it needs full scale ground wars/invasions and NPC clones/droids/recruits to fight alongside you and be geared by you and defend your base fighting these attackers to actually make it enjoyable. theres absolutely zero threat if I have to go to a base I know is hostile then easily wipe them out prepared and set up for a fight.
Myth of empires I (solo) built a massive cliff top castle using the steep terrain as my biggest defenses. I hired workers and had multiple on their station and used watchtower ballistas/whistling crossbows to alert me of other player attacks.
I mostly died to the very high level wildlife often as a big threat. bears, wolves, boar while gathering resources/hunting. and even set up outpost watchtowers to kill them safely or retreat inside if needed.
all these games I was a massive builder, and all these games I had a vast list of building pieces and built them piece by piece. im not even asking for a much more advanced way to build or more things to build fully. Just assumed you could make a castle because anyone who likes medieval themed games loves castles id think. All I was asking was if thats in the game really and if not it really should be. and that there be a danger/risk/ reason to build weapons/defenses and etc.
hell the infected was a very fun game while I played it where I could build piece by piece and had to fight off zombie raids as a form of threat/danger/reason to build. and I personally hate zombie games. I got my fill from world at war/black ops then it just got really ehh. id rather it had just been animals/beasts than zombies or any other mythical creature. but it was still fun. I also prefer medieval themed things. such as knights, stone castles and etc not the more modern theme the dev made for the infected. where theres wind turbines, mining machines, a tractor, not a simple bow, electricity and etc. it made it feel too ehh. if I wanted that I could do it in real life. medieval and making castles not many can do in real life, let alone afford. and the simple medieval theme is always nice since you wont one day have a gun pop into the updates and it becomes just another game we have seen way too much of. keep in mind " the infected" has a solo dev working on it too and had the threat there and building piece by piece freedom. (the freedom could have been higher tho but it was still good)
so yes I am very much a builder and as an RTS player I enjoy management of cities/kingdoms/civillians and combining the two sounds great. But what am I defending from in this game that will keep me playing it? or whats the point? im feeding, sheltering and equipping/working villagers while making them a simple village.
so im fighting taxes? im fighting the cold? im fighting maintaining the resources needed?
those are great and all but those are very simple to overcome. for example.
-I can get my village producing bulk of something then sell it to someone I assume. Taxes solved permanently for the game and now im 100% safe there.
-I can get my villagers getting their own food and surplus for the winter which is awesome. however once established its solved permanently for the game and im now 100% safe.
-I can store surplus before winter, and have enough to consistently produce much more than required to survive winter. now winters solved and 100% safe.
so what is it at this point I keep playing for? having more free building pieces and being able to make a castle would keep people creatively around for a long time. however they would need a reason to.
having a way to gear them up in knights gear, or crossbows/archers on a wall while getting attacked by enemy NPCS with various weapons/ladders consistently will always keep a danger especially if it can happen randomly and you need to have preparations in place. The enemy being able to make nearby camps that grow in number/structure into forts even that need destroyed and bringing your warriors to fight alongside you to clear it to prevent frequent attacks from that area (again a toggle in settings not forced way of playing) would bring constant life. all while actually building your kingdom and now having to manage wounds, warfare AND the previous dangers that currently exist like taxes, food stock/gatherers who may be fighting/wounded and you may need to actively gather more in emergency. and possibly loss of life/damaged homes if the raiders were able to get there. leaving you to recover, re build and re distribute your priorities/efforts. and while you are taking your workers in large numbers to an enemy camp to clear it while its small or maybe it got big without you noticing it popped up somewhere. they cant gather their resources. so a need to surplus and plan for before an attack and take into account deaths/wounds/time taken for the fighting is crucial too.
I could be wrong but most of the comments here seem to suggest im some idiot or are mocking me. im not just talking out of my ass these are very popular themes/soul or life giving elements needed in a game like this especially medieval game that not just myself want but id be confident to say the vast majority of players who dont buy the game currently want too.
just as an example look at how popular star wars is. now imagine if a game like no mans sky went further into the theme/lore/universe of a star wars like endless galaxy. just their recent combat updates made them break their sale expectations not to mention increase their players by a ton. and it wasnt even living up to full potential but its a step in the right direction for what the vast majority of players actually want and it paid off for them in sales/popularity already at the slightest of push in that direction. (again it should never be forced, it should be a toggle in the settings or an option. it is extremely important to keep the players who just was a peaceful no fighting type game from having their experience ruined. but it should never limit or be used as a n excuse to never build the game up to its full potential) I dont avoid painting in yellow because a bunch of people hate yellow. I sell them paintings in their favorite colors and make yellow paintings as options for purchase by those who like yellow/the painting. not the best analogy but it gets the point across.
id like to know basically if the future has any current plans or if plans are open for anything ive listed above and to what extent are the "we refuse" cut off areas so I can just know upfront if this game is or will ever be for me and those like me
