Villager Limit
I'm in year seven, and have hit my max villagers ... 57 or thereabouts. I've finished all the quests so all I have left to gain Dynasty Rep are the side quests, 3-4 per season, worth a measly 50 Rep. I guess this means my village will be expanding very very slowly from now on... or more likely I consider the game finished. Unless I am missing some way to keep expanding quickly?

Go to the customize game tab. Increase building limit to 200%. That will give you a bunch of buildings to build.

Do you know if that also increases the villager limit? I've still got a few building slots available

allow the children to grow up and house them, they'll have higher skills than anyone you can recruit. And the parents will have more children as you move the existing ones out

And, to ad to Moles comment. There is no limit for villagers.

The limit to villagers is lack of housing. These kids grow up and end up still living with Mom & Dad because there are no new houses. I currently have 130 buildings and 226 villagers and am sort of stuck. All I do is repair buildings and cook. The limit caused me to destroy some of the animal housing to have room for new houses. The lack of geese, goats, chickens makes the game less fun ;-(,

The reputation limits the recruitment. You can increase the reputation earn in the custom game settings to get faster reputation.
Or like all above said it, childs are the common way to increase your village population at a certain point.
