Nope, I made sure it's the right one.
I did have another recipe, but I don't think that's it. All the materials for both recipes were available, and as soon as I transferred the meat to the kitchen manually it disappeared.
Hmm, they're on opposite sides of a road... not sure if that matters. Funny thing is that they do deposit the completed recipes in the food storage.
Sorry, but this is simply wrong.
Your food storage can be at the other end of the valley, standing upside down on a hill - that doesn't matter at all.
No consequences are to expect due to distance between working place and storages, neither resource nor food storage.
Huh, I was under the assumption that your buildings need to be in the same general area to be considered part of your colony, but you're saying you can build wherever you like and it just works? That's interesting...
At least for the storage buildings, yes.
you can place a storage at the end of the world and your NPCs can get stuff out of it.
Also, the storage capacity is shared over buildings of the same type.
So if you, say, build two resource storages, their total capacity will add up and you can put stuff into the one building and get it out while you are at any of the other buildings of the same type.
As in: put arrows in the chest of recource storage A and take them out at resource Storage B.
Same works with food storage buildings. :)
and im 10 meters away and iv'e worked with it for 6 hours today with no luck and still no bread ect.

Flour has “Resource storage” on it, so the Barn Workers will put any flour they produce in Resource storage building (if it has space) and the Cooks will take it from the Resource Storage building.
The interface will state resources missing if outside of the NPCs working hours….as nl_toplitz stated.
It will also state resources missing whilst you in the management page as the game is “on hold” with no time passing whilst you are in that menu … so if you make some flour and put it in the resource storage building you need to close that menu and let the game run a few seconds before checking again.
