Stats Villagers

My MC is now 22 years old. He is a happy man : wife, married, a son. The main quest done. 13k reputation, 19 population. 25 buidings (of max 65).
His personnal stats : 5 / 2 / 7 / 3 / 10 / 10
But still he could be hapier : if only he could find better skilled villagers!
I do all the villages every year but the villagers to recruit have never better statts then 3. and in 4/5 year the bests only took 1 point in what they are doing. My only villager over 4 is my son fryderyk who has nice stats : 3 2 4 2 5 6. But hes still a baby so..
Is there a way to up villagers skills faster and find better ones?

They skill up by working. But their starting levels are between 1-3, when you speak to them at the campfires.

Yes i notices that but 1 point in 5 years ? att 100% work rate. that means they will almost never get to 10 before diing

It may depend upon the work load.
My woodcutter get +1 in one year, but I have 5 days in season, so count as 2 years. She has full load everyday, working nonstop. Others have pauses in work due to the lack of instruments or materials. Or even has less than 100% load.

what building they are working in, maybe what they are making too, makes a big difference. someone working 100% at the water well is never going to level up as fast as someone working on the farm.

best skills for new villager is 3. If your villager make better stuff, they level fast. A chief who only make roasted meat level slower as a chief who bake pies. And worker in the same building get both the full xp for every finished work. Two woodcutter in a wood shed 2 level double fast as a single woodcutter in wood shed 1.

Putting villagers in there preferred work helps.
Nearly all my villagers have 10 in there preferred work and the kids are being born with 10 in the same job after 8 in game years.
MC has 10's in all but hunting which is 6 soon to be 7.
