Ignoring Herald Quests/Challenges
I tried to search for the answer to this question and I found answers that clarified that if you speak to the Herald and fail or ignore the quest, you will lose favor with the King. Understandable, but my question was:

What if you don't even speak to the Herald and ignore them completely?

Answer: You still fail the quest and lose favor with the King.

You MUST address the Herald every time they appear to prevent favor loss with the King. My Tax bonus just dropped from -10% to -5%.

Save your game before you speak to him.

The last one asked me to hunt 17 Bears/Boars, 4 Hours before the last evening of the Season.

i made a newgame an customised the seasons to be 5 days long, idk if thats like making the game easier but gives you slightly more realistic time to do specific things,

If you never ever talk to the herald, you won't get any changes to your tax percentage and villager happiness. If you are at 0/0 and talk to him and decline his challenge, still no changes. But if you accept the challenge and don't deliver, the king will start not liking you and you need to pay more taxes. That's what I found out so far. I'm still trying to find out how often you have to accept challenges and not deliver until the king dies, maybe because you have not hunted all these bears and the king will be eaten by a bear. That's what I hope for, so my bad king might be replaced by a good one.

You don't lose Reputation-Points, when there is no Quest to fail. But the bonuses went back down at my game too, by ignoring the Herald for a while
