"My son (as well as another villager)..."
I bet that "other villager" was your wife.
The son will never go anywhere alone at the age of 16. He will always follow your wife until he is 18.
So, I am pretty sure your wife left and your son went with her.
As hubbemattsson mentioned above, your wife leaves you when her affection for you drops to zero. Maybe you should have been a tiny bit nicer to her.
About the "raising another child" part of your question: you'll need a new wife first.
Long story short:
Check if your wife is still there. If not, upload your current save and send us a link to download. We (we = the Bughunter team) can try to do some magic and get you another wife if you can't find one at the campfires. This part becomes more difficult when Racimir himself is over a certain age.
XD
This.
I have, quite clearly, been a very bad husband... For years... So, I guess well deserved...
Thanks for the offer for helping with the save, I have a quite decent save from earlier as I ... erm ... might have to get some gifts first ;)
I feel honestly bad, I was going about my errands and expanding the village for some time and completely forgot to check in on her...
and of course in the game, too
Would like some more dialog though, but I can understand you can't have hundreds of options. Would asking for a little more love'n after the child is born be too much to ask for?
