Horses / Donkeys / Cattle Not Breeding
Just wondering if anybody has any ideas why my horses, cattle, donkey's have stopped breeding? The two horses I bought mated and had a foal pretty soon after maturing. There is room for another foal in the stable, but they don't seem to want to breed another foal. My donkeys are both mature now and haven't produced a foal yer and my cattle have both been mature for several seasons and haven't bred any calves. Yes, I have male / female of each.

For the cattle, the female is 3.5 age and 100% ready. The Bull is 3 and 0% ready, but I don't know why.

Horses, the Mare is 3.25 0% ready. The Stallion is 3.25 0% ready. Foal is 1.25.

Donkeys... Mare is 2.25 0% ready and Stallion is 1.5 0% ready and they've never bred a foal.

The "ready" thing is for milk and whool.

One thing to consider is that 1 male and 1 female means you should have 15% per season to get a baby, it's not exactly a high chance.

Each male adds 15% to all females (in the same building) so for animals that can house more than 4 it's usually a good idea to get about 2 males and several females so each female gets 30% chance of having a baby each season.

Ahhh... did not know that. I was keeping equal male / female pairs. With Horses and Donkey's it's hard to keep a higher female ratio as there are only 4 spots to fill in a stable.

It's 20% for horses

Oh... that could be part of it as well given that I have 8 day seasons.

8 days... probably not the best idea...

Actually, I've been loving it so far. I don't mind the slow pace.

It's probably going to be slightly painful when your female villagers start to have babies because they take 2 years off each time and the children can only start working when they are 18.

Oh, I'm already there. I'm in the process of going through the plentiful baby phase, which means I'm having to do a lot of work myself. Once the mothers are back to work I'll be golden. Once the children are grown... I don't know what I'm going to do with all those villagers.

Me too. Not sure how to handle putting the teenagers into housing if I am already at maximum building on 200% setting. I did not account for that. OH WHAT TO DO. :steamhappy:
