I was hoping for something a bit easier than running around finding sticks and stones, or animals to hunt. Berries are easier since they are lots in one place. Any other ideas?
Other than that, you've itemized the only other ways to advance that tech (along with hired hunters, of which you can get 4 per Hunting Lodge II).
Maybe picking reeds
An extra bonus is you get some dynasty points as well from them. DP help unlock the ability to have more villagers if you are capped :)
But perhaps it could raise with your village status, like the tax since release. More and detailed observation need.
You will find yourself having to pick reeds a lot in the early stages for straw when building just about anything.
