Wife's hunger dilemma
I have not played the new version before and can't remember really how I could feed my wife ?
It seems like a "Catch-22" this:
1. I need a food storage in order to put her food there.
2. In order to build a food storage I need Farming tech level 5/5.
3. To get farming tech 5, I need to start farming.
4. Having made a farm plot and howe'd it, I need fertilizer.
5. Bought Manure but can't make fertilizer since I have not the tech to build a Barn .
6. Can't find any fertilizer to buy.

So, it feels pretty ridicolous this, me sitting there eating all my roasted meat and she can't eat it because I don't have a food storage??
Seems like a very long way to make her not hungry :steambored:

You can put food in your house's chest - she will help herself from there. And water and firewood of course. You were very quick to get hitched. Just don't ask her about babies while you need her help working on stuff.
To get the tech points, just make a field and plow it, you can destroy it after. At beginning just leave the roasted meat in the house chess until you build your storage.

Ok thank's but I read everywhere that this is not possible. Has it changed with the new version 1.0? I do have food in the chest but she is still hungry..
Well, I am doing a different life-style here.. Small homestead, no villagers, just a wife and a kid.. and they lived happy the rest of their life :)

Npc's don't eat raw meat and they don't cook it.
As far as I know it always been possible to leave food and wood in the chess until you can build the storage, only the water had been added in 1.0
Well, now she is not hungry any longer.. Maybe I had only "Deadly Nightshade" in the chest? LOL.

I hope she won't lose mood by being alone, hopefully when she gets your son all will be fine.

Well, she was a bit moody -8% but I build her a Herbalist hut and gave her that job. I don't know what she is gathering but I read somewhere that I could assign her to gather berries and mushrooms but I did not find that option..just Herbalist ??
It's in the menu.

if you need to refresh your memory. ceck the video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ_nfzaXNO0&list=UUkWxdwhepfsBq_w2Lyg7xtg&index=19 it's the same for all building.

Keep in mind that plants are seasonal. You'll have to adjust her task every season.

Oh yes, now I remember! I found it and now she is at least picking 5 different mushrooms and her happiness increased up to a whopping -3%. Thank's , 6 months away from game is not good *lol*

I'm not far into my hermit life game, I just thought that the technology points will take much longer as I have only my wife to contribute instead of the entire village. I'm thinking to restart with 150% ~ 200% technology gain multiplier to compensate.

Yes I have realized that too..
I have a Smithy here but the Tech gap is 200/5000 for making iron arrows! I don't know how long this will take on my own?
But restart now? Not for me I think.. Have done 4 restarts already :)

Honestly, there is so much lacking in the end-game department, restarting new play-throughs of the game is the best thing you could be doing to enjoy the game in the long term. at least, hopefully, for now.
