How to breed chickens?
Hi guys. I have a question. How to breed chickens? I have bought 2 small chickens. 1 male and 1 female. They grew up now. I can see lot of eggs in my food storehouse because one of my inhabitants is taking care of animals. But I cant see any new little chickens. Why is that: Should I leave those eggs there and not to collect them? Should I give the woman other job and let her the chickens be?

Just wait, as long as you have somebody working at the building, they'll eventually hatch a new one. Usually it happens when the seasons change.

The chicken were breeding fine for me, you should collect all eggs (set a worker) and if you got a male and female adult chicken you should be fine, they will start to reproduce soon (might take a year or two, but not longer).
Make sure you got the latest version of the game, perhaps quicksave and quick-reload in between also that seem to trigger some broken things.

Ok guys. Thanks a lot for the advices.
Just need the space for them inside the Henhouse. If you had 1 of each gender, then its fine. Just wait. Each season change is random.

At the moment no need Animal Breeder in order to breed, no need Animal Feed. Only to collect their produced.

Just to check: There isn't any need to stop collecting eggs, is there? It does seem a little daft that my chicken (just the one hen, but I do have a rooster) happily lays eggs but I haven't yet had any chicks. I've tried collecting only feathers, not eggs (what sort of trade-off is that? At least I am pleased to see my poultry didn't end up bald), and collecting eggs and not feathers, but it does not seem to make any difference. Still, they've only been fully grown for two seasons so far.

No, there is no need to stop collecting eggs to get chicks. It is random. As long as you have one rooster and at least one hen, as well as enough room in the coop, each season change has a chance for chicks. If you're done waiting or just want to test it, you could save before season change and reload when they have no chicks.
Food and a worker are currently not needed for them to reproduce.

it seems to me that hens have a lower reproduction probability than other animals. Personally, I bought a rooster and a hen who both died (5 years = 15 seasons!) without having had a single chick! I just bought two more. I will see...

I'm on the new game, for me since I've bought Chicken and Rooster first, they re-produce first compare to Hog and Pig. Depends when you bought and match them I'd guess, also yes it is random.

Just an update to Patch v0.3.1.4, need to manage the collecting egg from under the Buildings tab, then Henhouse, there is a slider toggle.
