Are fishing nets worth the effort?

I made my first fishing net. It took 6 linen thread, which are expensive. I checked the net later and found 4 roach. When I removed the fish the net disappeared. So I traded 6 valuable linen thread for 4 crummy fish.

It seems like a waste of time.

It help you to gain Survival/Hunting Technology Experience Point, the more you set the traps, the more Technology Point you get. While making the traps it self will get you Exp for your own Skill.

Can't see any value in the nets - I've got two in a hunting lodge who only collect feathers, and a fishing hut. Incidental hunting sees the meat count higher than my population of 61 can eat, so all the fish from the hut (which seems to be a LOT) just gets parked to eventually become rot for fertilizer.

XP more easily gained from either hunting yourself or getting bird/rat traps and increasing the max number to 3 so that you are continually replacing the traps (inlc. rabbit) for the cost of sticks/stones.

I enjoy hunting. I haven't been good about setting traps. I was setting rabbit and bird traps but once my population started to rise I let that go by the wayside.

Same with me, I love hunting. I just let my traps and net alone, used to look after them, then as the village grew to town. I don't bother anymore. Just not my thing. Different people have different play style ;)

Yeah with hundreds of meats and fishes in the pantry those 1 rabbit meat or bird meat don't amount to much.

you get fish .. but I think its to expensive for 2 ore 3 fish and the 3 times of use

The better traps have to work more times then 3

the only purpose of traps are the XPs in survival

Fishing nets are extremely wasteful, and by the time you unlock them they are completely useless. 1 person working in the fishing hut is like 75-100 fish a season at least.
