What job you put your villagers into from start?
as title says what jobs you let your villagers do at start ? i recruited 2 villagers and put them into hunting lodge with an idea that they will at least provide food for themselves but im interested in what jobs would make a little bit of profit too

Hunting Lodge is good for profit, too. You can use mushrooms and berries for fertilizer, and mushrooms can be sold. The hunter can also bring back feathers. You can sell them as is or make iron arrows. That's really good money.

i would say first jobs should be ones that dont require tools, so a gatherer would work better than a hunter. or a lumberjack gathering sticks, instead of logs to start. but due to needing to provide tools you should try to get a crafter working on those tools asap. but also dont rush, you will be better off moving slow and not expanding too quick. and dont get too attached to any of your buildings as you will likely need to destroy them all at some point, it is just a function of the game that all things will need to be replaced eventually

Hunter as mentioned is a good choice. He/she will need a knife if you have them getting meat. Think about leather as well as 3 leather can be made into a small pouch (fairly quickly by you) and sold for 14c (might be 11c).

Think about a crop worker for the second worker. You can set up a field as large as you think you will need in the future but only plant crops in as many spots as you can afford. The main cost will be fertilizer until you start making your own from rot. However with cabbages you can plant twice a year and sell excess seeds and cabbages for enough to make some money and buy fertilizer.

My first worker is always a woodcutter as I don't like chopping trees. Even with the tools, it's not hard to gather some stones and sticks and make 10 stone axes. This worker has not more than lvl 3 in the beginning and it will take time until these 10 are used up.

I also start with a woodcutter. I held off on the hunter in my latest game and built the barn first. Just one farmer and two or three medium sized fields of vegetables provide enough food to supply the early village. I added a hunter and a fisherman later.

Hunter, always hunter. Normally this is the job of my wife, when getting a 2nd villager he/she is going to work as a woodcutter. This leaves me the interesting jobs like crafting tools and field / plant management, the villager´s work should in my eyes only be done when it is worth an automation, products which are needed again and again. As I need flexibility when it comes to planting and harvesting, wood and food are the most important products.

get one crafting early on - that skill is the slowest to build up I think. you will be doing quite a lot of helping out early on. and you might as well take care of crop farming yourself to use just what fertiliser and seeds as you can afford initially.

I always start with a woodcutter and a hunter then a gatherer. that way as soon as the tavern unlocks I know my folks won't starve I can keep them supplied in wood and the summer crop of berries from the gatherer net me al the fertalizer I need once they rot and the mushrooms the rest of the year are enough for me to pay for most things with maybe a run of wicker baskets in spring for the tax
