What is the yield from Wheat?
If I plant one wheat, what do I get from it and how many?

It seems variable based off where the fields are

if you built at the unstuck point and cleared a forest, well then you get medium fertility

build east of the bridge beyond Gostia there is some nice fertile land next to the lake

built to the west of Gostia and north of Denica by the bridge, very fertile land there

was getting something like 8-12 wheat and straw from each square (I use 3x3 fields)

How can we tell the level of fertility from the soil?
I didnt even factor this in i just built at unstuck to learn the basics and after reading your post im seriously considering changing location/starting again

what i heard:
there is no fertility. the yield can be little bit random.

I only made a note of wheat yields on one harvest, where I got 6 per square. I also get 6 for oats, rye and flax on various occasions. There is a random number element, but it appears to be very small.

My fields are east of the bridge east of Gostovia, on both sides of the river. I had no idea there ware any differences in fertility.

There is no fertility system, other than fertilizer - least none that i would be aware of. Tool is a factor though, since a scythe can potentially cut more in one swing resulting in bigger stacks.

For Oat and Rey i get about an average of times 6, aka 40 tiles = total yield of arround 240 grain.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I havent played since the game first launched and could not remember yields. I need to do the king's quest and get him 100 wheat and did not want to waste more money than I needed.

I remember planting like a 6x6 or 7x7 of cabbage and getting around 200-300 back, or something like that. Been a long time :-)

Thanks again for the info!

On this Kings quest, do you have to grow for him? I have a lot of wheat every year, I have around 100 to 200 of wheat that I won't thrash due to few that I might overly make flour like I did one year with my rey, so now I am careful and always keep 100 to 200 wheat without thrashing.
My last 10x8 filed of Oats gave me 480 (6 per chunk) haven't counted wheat yet). On the kings quest I don't think he cares where it comes from as long as he gets it, at least that's true of other things like iron and straw. I just gave him what I already had in store.

At any rate, crop yields are too high for medieval ages. Typically, you would harvest 3 to 4 times the amount of grains you planted, not 6.
