Controller support

I'm really thinking about buying this game, it looks great. I'm just curious of how well the controller support works. Is it fully functional playing with a controller? Any feedback and honest opinions on this game would be great, thanks.

I play with controller, works pretty well if you ask me.
You have to keep in mind though that controller works through steam, so before trying, make sure steam knows your controller ;p
I do have a keyboard close, but that mainly to go fast to a certain menu, it's not really needed

I use x-box contoller entirely. One or two elements in the management screen are easier if you use the mouse which you can do because keys and mouse remain active even if you are using the controller.
Only thing I might change is the left joystick button - whistle to call your horse - as I'm always accidentally pressing it when I get ambushed by hogs or wolves, which doesn't help.

So we have native Xbox one support? I dont have to map anything out?
Also do we have support for the game to work on Intel integrated Gpu?

Xbox support is for Gamepass, still a PC thing. However, consol ports are planned and on the roadmap.

You can try Cloud Gaming. UE4 needs more than an integreated Intel chip, I'm afraid.

I have finally worked out how to alter X-box one controller configs in PC steam so I can align the uses to match my heavily ingrained use as defined in Skyrim. It works perfectly well with MD without any custom config.

I mean it's fairly easy to map out the controls using steam, but how's the analog stick smoothing?

I have a PS5 dualshock controller and I have Steam settings to enable support for it in unsupported games. This game still isn't picking up my controller. It works fine in every other game I have. Any further suggestions please?

Just found the issue. I had to go to the Steam settings specifically for this particular game and enable Steam support (not just the Steam>Settings>Controller section).
