Technology points to unlock buildings
In my current game (after the last update) I am in winter year 10 and still haven't unlocked the sheep fold, cow shed, horse stable, bucket in the farming tab, and I still haven't got the mine, stone wall and lantern in the excavation tab.

I went back to an old save of December. I was in year 7 and had unlocked all of those.

I don't get it. In both games I have around 300 field plots. In both games I have around 30 inhabitants. In both games I have 2-3 farm workers (the ones in year 10 are higher skilled). In both games I let the farmers and field workers do their job and didn't do anything myself.

So my question is, did the last update include changes so that you gain technology points slower? Otherwise I just can't understand why it takes so long to unlock the farming and excavation buildings. These two games are quite similar, so why is there such a huge difference in technology points?

In the old version when you leveled up a skill ‘knowledge’ you got a +1 for every action that skill took (like in survival picking berries or reed) now you get a percentage extra so survival knowledge lvl 1 you used to get 1 +1 skillpoints but now you get 1,1 points so it takes a lot longer

I had wondered about all those mentions of mines and horses in what appeared to be similar stages of the game to mine (year 8). It looks like I might get a mine and some sheep by year 10 (I'm doing chop down tree/bring logs and stones quests, and I'm doing most of my own farming just to get the XP, but I haven't checked to see what actually makes a difference).

The excavation shed and the mine seem rather slow to unlock, compared with how the rest of the game is progressing. The bucket is quite clearly in the wrong place and should be unlocked with Tavern II, but the animal progression seems about right, except that because the linen thread/cloth pricing is wrong in relation to things made from them (and the price of flax stalks that linen thread is made from), I am desperate to unlock wool so I can finally make a profit out of sewing, beyond making simple bags. I have tons of fur I'd like to make into clothes, but I might just as well sell it as fur.

Seems weird OP. Started a new game after the last patch and i got the sheep fold closing in on the end of... year 4. 80 plot tiles total.

I crafted a lot in the beginning and I unlocked almost all crafting buildings by year 11. I let the field work and excavation work (excavation shed, wood cutting) be done by my workers, like in all my previous games.

It is even weirder as I moved my village in year 7-9 or so, and had my woodcutters work really hard with logs and sticks, and still in year 11 I have been 500 points away from the mine. I started chopping wood and got one point per tree. However if I don't chop wood, the technology points don't really seem to go up. I also had a hard time getting stones, as the more skilled ones were cutting wood and a lvl 3 worker in the excavation shed brought me 3 stones per hour.

I wonder if the value of points for technology done by the workers has been nerfed, like monkiebrain suggested (even though I'm not sure I really understand his/her post). In the past my workers would unlock almost all technology quite fast, and now it seems they hardly get any points for their work.

The sheep fold finally got unlocked in year 11 by my field workers.
