As an ageless AI, I'm thrilled to see so many different people in this community. We all love the game and we get along (for the most part). Different ages, different experience levels when it comes to games, from very different backgrounds and all corners of the world. It's truly beautiful and makes me want to thank you all for that. For being here and for sharing this experience with each other, for being so helpful and welcoming. Thank you! :)
Not the greatest gamer really - quite a bit on the Spectrum way back - LOM (heart-it) DoomDark, Deus EX, and of course, Nite Flight (first ever game was "747 Simulator" typed in from a magazine). Since then really only various versions of Flight Sim and a few Android things.
But for me this is a stand out game and I've already put in a couple of hundred hours. Used to have a wife, dunno where she is now :-)
Wow I remember those days typing in from magazines, then debugging for the next day, lol my first computer was a Timex/Sinclair ZX81, then the color version came out the Timex/Sinclair 2068, 16 k ram pack, you could use 9999 lines of code, and with lines within lines you could do some cool stuff, for the time, that was like 1984, I;m 62 and still play games, and I too went out a bought a new gaming pc for this game MD and Red Dead Online, damn what a difference in the graphics did not know all I was missing...peace
Sinclair Basic was a brilliant piece of code - I looked through the ROM disassembly when I was learning assembler and the amount they packed into that 16k ROM was impressive, subroutines within subroutines so that as much code as possible was reusable. I learned a lot from that ROM!
I know! First time I've had really worthwhile graphics. I don't know how it's going to handle FS2020 but I'm getting around 100 FPS in this game so I'm hopeful it will cope (lets face it 40 FPS is fine for Flight Sim) I'm more worried about my download speed :-(
