No Heir
I've been playing this game since the earliest days of Steam release.

I got my wife. Asked for her for the Heir in Spring. I got her dialog about showing up and going to bed at 7PM (even though none of us have clocks!!!). Went to bed of course and (presumably) did the 'heir making thing" with her.

Went through the rest of Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter and now it's Spring again which means it's been more than one in-game year and I've got no heir and the main quest is just sitting there.

Are others having this problem? Have they changed the game so you have to ask multiple times? I just don't under why something that worked perfectly every-single-time and needed no chances or 'improvements' is not functioning.

was she showing the green pregnant symbol during that time? If not, she wasn't pregnant.

I guess you spoke to her too early and she asked you to come back after 7pm(there is a clock at the top of the map)

Well, that was almost helpful. The problem is I don't know what that symbol is and there is no index or key for me to look it up. Now if had mouse-over explanations to your symbols I could just do that. But you don't.

So instead of me worrying about symbols I don't know where they would be at or look I have new question: Does she keep giving you the dialog when she's not pregnant and stops when she is?

Because I've actually run the dialog multiple times with her. In fact I did so right before I posted this because I'm perplexed as I still get the same 'let's do it' dialog.

So that might tell clue me in. But some symbol I don't know what it is, it's not explained when it shows up and I don't know where to find it isn't particularly helpful until I luck-into what the heck it means.

Especially when you've made a serious change to the game and I haven't played through all the updates and I'm operating on old knowledge!

speak to her after 7pm in your house, and ask her for a heir

All symbols are explained in game though. The ones for buildings is written in words in the status of a building. If a building has a symbol behind it, just go in the building and look at the top to see it's status

The pregnancy symbol to me looks like a green sock, and it is in the people management tab next to the woman who is pregnant.

It also says "pregnant" in your wife's status. So, green symbol and pregnant status are clear indications you did things right.

I hurried home that night to make sure I was there right at 7 pm, just in case her mood changed. In fact, she was quite...er...enthusiastic!

By the way, you don't just "go to bed". I mean, you have to talk to her, you know?

I asked my wife for a heir during the day time, too. She told me to meet with her at 7:00PM. That evening I asked her about starting a family. Her reply was "What are you waiting for, Stud".
Next thing I know is it's morning, my wife stands up and turns her back to me. I take it that she didn't enjoy it and I don't remember a thing.

Maybe you left her speechless.
