tools and seeds for farmers

just to confirm am i correct in saying all tools for the villagers goes into he storage building But seeds fertilizer rot and manure go into the barn

When you look at an item in the upper right of it's description it either says "Food Storage" or "Resource Storage" telling you which shared-mass storage it goes in. The boxes at each building are just overflows if the output location for any item wouldn't fit where it needed to go.

Seeds, fert, manure are resources and rot is a food item as it comes from spoiled food.

They can but it is (for me) simpler to put everything in the appropriate storage. Rot iirc is food so goes in food storage the rest in resource storage. I'm going off memory for which storages so select the item and in its' description it will tell you which storage to put it in.

It is easier to put everything in the resource or food storage (depending on what the item shows it goes into). However, you can also put farm items in the barn. The farm items in the barn are used before the items in resource/food storage.
