Why don't the villagers light the campfire in their homes?

As of last play on 10/7 villagers were still not lighting the campfires. I am playing the public staging one. Now when i went to the beta it downloaded immediately and would NOT let me put in the pass code and when I did it said it was invalid. I waited and then put in the pass code and nothing indicated it took but the villagers still don't light the campfires. Re-entered the pass 10/8 will see if that triggers it. If it still doesn't work should I go back to the live version and retry getting back into the public staging?

Latest version of the game should have the fix, 1.0.0.7 patch is now live.

Well it is not working for me villagers still NOT lighting fires also noticed that the villagers are NOT patrolling with torches anymore either like the previous versions in fact 1.0.0.6 release still had villagers patrolling with torches. I have validated the install as well and I stop steam every time I stop playing to get any new steam updates.
Course steam and i don't get along well anyway. I play a farming simulation or did and I would be doing fine and the game would freeze I would come back and all my machinery etc and mods are gone and have to start over and it has been that way since 2013 with that game. So maybe the curse is still with me in this one.

SIDENOTE: Rather than accepting this curse, why don't you contact steam and have them help you find a way to end the curse.

Good luck with that have contacted them several times and get stop using mods NOPE we don't have mods here so it has to be a small glitch in the program code as it worked before it went to 1.0.0.6 I think the it maybe the fact that the download went before I put in the pass code it was downloading before i even put the code in.
To be clear the fires in the houses never did light but the campfires i placed in and around the village were always lit by the villagers..until now so like i stated it must be just a little misstep in the programming that hasn't been found yet.

I totally agree, it would give the houses a more "lived in" look, hopefully at some point this will be added

At first, I had to light the campfires but after a couple times the villagers started doing it themselves

I just put up my first campfire last (game) night and to (game) night the villagers filled the benches and lit the fire. It works fine for me, at least.

NOT me i have lit them every night since i started a new game and they refuse to light the fires. Haven't tried the benches though however previously they didn't need benches that i recall.

TY It worked I placed seats around the fires like u and they lit the fires now working. (Side Note) the market stalls work at bringing money into the village or the villagers money to the stall whichever over 200 coins since i put up the first stall this did not work in pre release
