Destroying Crops
Has anyone else experienced this. I could have sworn in previous versions you could change the crop selection for a field and the workers would plant that crop the first available season for it. For instance you have rye growing in the winter and you change the field to flax. I could have sworn the NPCs would wait until after harvest to plant the flax in the spring. My field workers just destroyed three fields of Rye in the middle of winter and fertilized the fields even though they can't plant anything.

maybe that is a side effect of the update that allowed fertilised fields to survive across season end?

That sounds probable, I guess in some cases people may want their crops destroyed when making a change. I just went back to my autosave for the season change so no loss for me other than about 20 minutes of gameplay

They didn't actually fertilise the fields. If you (or they, or a storm) destroy the crop, the field becomes fertilised and ploughed automatically.

I think most of use would like it to work how you thought it did. Wanting to change crops (or wanting wheat/cabbage not to be replanted as soon as it is harvested) seem common things to want to do. Wanting to destroy a crop sounds like madness.
